*Are you interested in learning how to implement and configure one or more
of the Oracle Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), Security and Controls
solutions?*
*Are you willing to spend the time and effort it takes to work through a
self-study program to gain the hands on experience that you need?*
*Can you work as an Oracle GRC, Security and Controls Professional
Contractor?*
If you answered "Yes" to these questions and you meet the following
requirements, you may be invited to join our Intern Program. You must have:
- Very Good to Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
- BS Degree (or working toward one) in Accounting, Business or Computer
Science
- Laptop with access to the Internet
- Willing to travel when placed on a project
This is a great opportunity for a student to learn a skill set that will
generate a six figure income upon graduation. Similarly, this is a great
opportunity for someone who wishes to make a career move and/or add Oracle
skills to their skill set.
All interns will be placed on projects directly under my supervision so you
won't be on your own.
If you are interested in learning more, please send me your resume WITH a
cover letter that explains you are a good candidate for this program and the
reasons why you want to participate.
Sincerely,

<http://oraclegrcexpress.com/ >blog/2011/ 08/09/opening- incident- reports-in- aacg-8-6- 0-203-and- 8-6-0-240/
We are experiencing issues trying to open Incident Reports in Oracle AACG
8.60.203 and AACG 8.6.0.240. We have expanded table space and archived
older incidents that we didn't need. We can schedule and generate the
Incident Reports in CSV and/or PDF formats, but we can't open the reports.
Let us know if you have also experienced this issue.

OIC Provides Oracle GRC, Security & Controls Specialists
<http://oraclegrcexpress.com/ >blog/2011/ 08/09/oic- provides- oracle-grc- security- controls- specialists/
*Oracle GRC, Security & Controls Specialists*
Oracle Independent Consultants LLC or OIC is an Oracle Gold Partner. We
focus solely on providing Oracle Financial Controls Risk Assessment & Risk
Management Services; Installation, Implementation and Configuration Serives,
Training and Resources for Oracle Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC),
Security and Controls solutions.
*Our Team*
Our team of Oracle GRC, Security and Control Professionals have very good to
excellent oral and written communication skills. Additionally, they have,
at a minimum, five (5) years of professional experience in one or more of
the following disciplines: Accounting, Auditing, Oracle Financials,
Governance, Risk Assessment & Risk Management, SOX, CobiT, etc. Moreover,
most of our team members have advanced degrees and professional credentials
such as: CPA, CIA, CISA, CISM, CTP and others. Some of our team members
have Big 4 experience or experience with one or more predecessor Accounting
firms (e.g, Big 8).
*Installing Oracle GRC Applications*
I urge our customers to use one of our Oracle GRC/FINAPPS DBAs who have
hands on experience installing the Oracle applications. They will prepare
an installation document that your DBA can use to do the installation in the
Production Instance with support from our DBA during a live web session.
I also suggest that your team reviews the Oracle GRC Support Matrix very
carefully to ensure that the IT infrastructure use for the Oracle GRC
applications is supported by Oracle.
If you attempt to install the Oracle GRC applications on your own, please
allow additional time and expense to work through and resolve the issues
that you will encounter.
*Using Oracle GRC Applications during Implementation to Reduce Costs*
Use Oracle CCG 5.5.1 to automate the process of preparing the BR100 (i.e.
Application Configuration Document) and tracking difference in setup
parameters between instances. Similarly, use Oracle AACG 8.6.3 to eliminate
intra-role conflicts in the Oracle custom Responsibilities that you define
for an Oracle implementation.
Contact me to learn more about how you can use Oracle GRC tools to provide
additional services to your clients during the Oracle implementation that
sets your firm apart from the competition.
*Contact Me for Oracle GRC Resources*
Please contact me if you need Oracle GRC, Security and Controls technical
and/or functional Professionals. We provide Oracle GRC, Security and
Controls resources to other Oracle Partners and Oracle Consulting firm to
help augment their staff on Oracle implementation projects that include the
Oracle GRC applications. The billing rate to other Oracle Consulting firms
for our resources is $110 per hour plus expenses.

LinkedIn privacy change - Part2

Another good tip from a networker. I also chose to make this LinkedIn account change.
Forwarded by Ann Bergquist
1. Click on your name on your LinkedIn homepage (upper right corner). On the drop-down menu, select "Settings".
2. From the "Settings" page, select "Account".
In the same Account "Privacy Controls" column as below, there is a link "Turn off enhanced advertising", which I discovered had also defaulted to being On. I deselected its checkbox, too.

I just received the following information from a friend over in England regarding what is apparently a recent LinkedIn change to its privacy settings. By default, LinkedIn is allowing our names and photos to be used by third-party advertising. Here's how to stop it:
1. Click on your name on your LinkedIn homepage (upper right corner). On the drop-down menu, select "Settings".
2. From the "Settings" page, select "Account".
3. In the column next to "Account", click "Manage Social Advertising" .
4. De-select the box next to "LinkedIn may use my name, photo in social advertising" .
Thanks to Tilly Wijesuriya for the heads-up.
