Position Responsibilities – Summary

· Manages the activities related to the design, procurement, testing
and operations in support of server related technical projects.
· Oversees the daily activities of direct reports. Coaches and
mentors staff towards career development.
· Manages, maintains and implements applications/technologies and
associated systems standards.
· Negotiates and establishes vendor business partner relationships
to ensure best pricing and service level delivery.
· Establishes and maintains budgets and associated expenditures
along with acquisition methodologies for assigned applications/technologies,
purchases and maintenance.
· Evaluates and acquires new/upgraded software and hardware
technologies that offer competitive advantages or productivity gains in
delivery of information and system services to the end user computing
community.
· Provides inter and interdepartmental communication concerning all
computing standards and future strategic directions. Sets standards
concerning specific corporate direction in relation to assigned applications
and technologies.
· Other duties as assigned.

Reports to Manager of Technical Services - Global Infrastructure

Required Skills and Competencies:

· 8+ years Information Technology experience in large data center,
distributed, multi-location, multi-protocol, networked environment.
Candidates must have experience working in an environment of a 500 - 1000+
Windows Servers or very close to this number.
· 5+ years of management experience – Need experience managing a
group of 25-30 people – Person best suited for this role will have come up
thru a hands-on technical role and can still engage hands-on as needed.
Needs to be hands-on technically in the technologies specified.
· Experience building Windows Based Servers.
· Experience with VMware, Citrix, Active Directory and Clustering.
· Experience with the acquisition and management of technology
including midrange, desktop and other hardware, software and network related
areas.
· Extensive technical experience in current infrastructure
technologies used at the firm. These technologies include, but are not
limited to: Mainframe, Servers, Desktops, Peripherals, Wireless Devices,
Miscellaneous Appliances, Storage Devices, Operating Systems, Utilities,
Monitoring Tools, Software Packages, Networks, etc.
· Experience in current development methodologies, audit and SOX
compliance, security practices, middleware, change management compliance,
database technology, etc.
· Solid understanding of hardware, operating systems and associated
technologies including both current technologies and future trends for
industry strategic hardware and software in the assigned environment.
· Ability to manage and adjust multiple priorities in a fast paced,
rapidly changing environment.
· Ability to rapidly adapt to new technologies and business
requirements.
· Cross platform technical knowledge.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Retail experience preferred but not mandatory.

Position Summary;

The Compliance Application Developer will work on projects related to Pre
Trade and Post Trade compliance workflow development, including systems
development, implementation and/or enhancements. This individual will be
responsible for working with the business users to create business
requirements and implement complete solutions in support of user
requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

· Work with the business users (compliance department, traders and
portfolio managers) to implement functional solutions for any trade
lifecycle compliance process, including third party product integration, new
system development, new functionality, version upgrades, and reporting
requirements.
· Work as part of a team of in-house staff and outside consultants
to implement the required changes to a third party compliance system.
· Lead application requirement sessions with business users and
technical staff
· Provide timely updates on progress of assigned tasks to project
manager
· Coordinate/execute QA test plans before releasing product
enhancements for user testing
· Assist in production release of new functionality and provide
assistance in support of production issues
· Document user defined enhancement requests, product gaps, and
product bugs

Required Skills and Competencies:

Mandatory Requirements

· Undergraduate degree in science, engineering, finance or
technology discipline
· 5+ years experience in C# or Java development
· Experience with design patterns, server side architecture and
development
· Experience in a lead developer role, mentoring others
· Latent Zero Sentinel or other compliance application experience
with exposure to equity, fixed income and derivatives compliance workflows.
· Understanding of Buy Side investment process
· Ability to review and contribute to QA Test Plans
· Extremely strong interpersonal skills, proven ability to work
directly with the business community
· Must be detail oriented with very strong organizational and
communication skills
· Ability to work effectively and efficiently with little or no
supervision
· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, set goals, and meet
deadlines
· Must be willing to take initiative and employ good follow-through
skills

Highly Desired

· Experience integrating third party vendor applications with

Summary:

development experience in Java-based technologies

· 3+ years of proven experience with such technologies as web
services, XML/XSLT, Struts, Grails, log4j, ANT, Spring, AJAX
· Experience using and deploying to industry-leading application
servers such as Tomcat or BEA WebLogic 9.x
· Financial industry knowledge is a plus
· Experience with iterative software development methodologies, such

Keys to this Position:
1. Technical: We are seeking well rounded developers with the following
technical skills: Java, J2EE, Oracle, Web Services, MQ or Active MQ
Messaging skills. ETL or Datastage is a plus. Some roles are more focused
on Tomcat, Spring and Struts along with Java, Oracle. The Senior role is 80
to 90% coding.
2. For the Lead role the position is 50 to 70% hands on coding and the
balance is leading a team. The Lead should have experience leading a team
of 5 to 10 developers. Must have experience leading offshore teams. Firm
uses an on and offshore model.
3. Excellent Communication skills are required. This individual will need
to be able to articulate technical solutions to the business teams.
4. Financial Services experience is a plus.
5. The ideal candidate will have 6 to 10 years of experience.
