Workforce Morris February 2010 Edition
Residents looking for work or perhaps a new career will want to be at the Meadow Wood Manor in Randolph on April 28 when the Parsippany Area Chamber of Commerce will offer its second-annual Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Admission is free for both hiring companies and potential employees. Potential employees will have the opportunity to meet with hiring companies, have their resumes reviewed and meet with career-counseling professionals.
'Last year, we launched a very successful economic and workforce development program, Employment Outreach, which includes the annual job fair,' said PACC President Robert Peluso. 'Our first job fair brought in over 25 companies and 200 attendees. This year we are looking to grow upon last year's success to make this an even better event.
The Employment Outreach Program is the Chamber's approach to stimulating the local economy by developing the current and future workforce. The program offers several services including a job posting board, bi-monthly newsletter (Workforce Morris), Web site (employmentoutreach.org), internship opportunities, a scholarship program, training events, career counseling and workforce development opportunities for students.
'The employee is the most important part of any organization. It is the people and their abilities that often make the difference between success and failure. Our goal is provide organizations with the best possible people [workforce] available. Through the development of a quality workforce, companies will grow and come to the greater Parsippany Area,' said Craig Schlosser, the PAAC executive director and founder of the Employment Outreach Program.
The Job Fair and the Employment Outreach Program reaches outside of Parsippany into the greater Parsippany Area through the use of several strategic partnerships, including the New Jersey Small Business Development Center and the Morris County Chamber of Commerce. This year, NJSBDC Assistant Director Mary Adelman will lead job fair efforts as the chair of the Chamber's Community and Economic Development Committee.
Paul Boudreau, president of the Morris County Chamber of Commerce, will join Adelman and other committee members in the execution of the Job Fair.
'I applaud the initiative of the Parsippany Chamber of Commerce in bringing together employers and those seeking employment,' Boudreau said. 'We are excited about partnering on job creation which is critical to moving our economy forward in the months ahead.'
Services provided by the Employment Outreach Program are solely funded by the Parsippany Area Chamber of Commerce and the program's sponsors.

This posting is actually for a 'Network Portfolio * Network Project Manager'
Under the direction of the Network Portfolio Director this individual will
ensure the effective delivery of the IT Infrastructure that will upgrade or
remediate the network. This position will be responsible for various tasks
such as the management and monitoring of Network hardware implementation,
software upgrades and equipment configurations in support of the Network
Portfolio. This is a 7 month role.
This individual will establish, execute and maintain project plans for their
assigned projects and tasks. This individual will contribute toward improved
efficiency and quality of the deployment of Velocity based technical
solutions to the organization.
* Focus on ensuring flawless execution of project deliverables by utilizing
standard methodologies and capabilities
* Lead project review sessions with project managers and the planning office
providing project status, identifying issues and recommending solutions
* Strong relationship building and influencing skills along with the ability
to effectively communicate to internal and external executives, sponsors and
stakeholders
* Manage the project delivery performance against established metrics
* Accountable for ensuring that the program follows the established PM
processes and procedures
* Implement global standards, process and procedures and identify areas for
improvement
* Ensure creation, review, and management of operational metrics for the
Program Management Office
* Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and team
collaboration skills are essential

Qualifications
* Understanding of Network infrastructure related technologies.
* Undergraduate degree in Business, or similar discipline or 10+ equivalent

* Strong knowledge of project delivery/methodologies
* Proven technical competency with all of ITS*s standard technologies
* Strategic thinker that is results driven and displays a sense of urgency

* Self-driven with strong focus to achieve business results and keen
