Senior Systems Administrator – UNIX Systems Support
Jersey City

Description: The Senior System Administrator supports the UNIX software systems platforms. The primary objective is to assure reliable and predictable performance of all clients' critical systems in support of corporate banking and finance operations. The corporate computing resources include high reliability, networked, database servers in a distributed UNIX/Sun Solaris environment utilizing storage available locally attached and networked disk storage.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the incumbent include, but are not limited to:

·           Design, configure and tune high availability systems and components using Veritas Cluster Server technology and other high availability software systems.

·           Design, configure, and tune disk farm arrangements to enable failover capabilities between paired systems to enable disaster recovery capabilities.

·           Identify and resolve capacity, contention, and resource deficiencies to support corporate processing requirements.

·           Provide second/third level UNIX software support to the UNIX Systems Support group during normal working hours and outside of normal working hours.

·           Investigate and determine the requirements for all new and replacement UNIX machines

·           Maintain the currency of software patches and operating system patches of all UNIX machines.

·           Document and maintain the body of UNIX production and development systems related information used by the DBTS group.
·           Provide feedback to the production support and development community regarding system diagnostics and system performance analysis.
·           Provide advice and guidance to the development community early in the development cycle to design "supportability" into new and/or revised applications.

·           Roll out new applications and upgrades developed by the internal development organizations.

·           Support third party applications products used in support of corporate mission critical systems.

·           The incumbent will be an active member of the "on-call" rotation.  The "on-call" rotation requires, on average, one 7-day period per month during which the incumbent will be available via beeper for emergency support and consultation.

·           The incumbent will be responsible for the configuration, management and administration of the firm's Storage Area Network (SAN).

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

·        A minimum of 5 years experience as an administrator in a UNIX/Sun Solaris environment.

·        A minimum of 5 years experience as a UNIX System Administrator in a multi-node environment with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot system problems.

·        A minimum of 2 two years experience administrating a Storage Area Network (SAN).

·        Experience supporting a Network Appliance environment is a plus.

·        Experience supporting a Hitachi 9980 environment is a plus.

·        Experience supporting a Sun e25K processing environment is a plus.

·        Knowledge of local and wide area networking protocols including TCP/IP.

·        Knowledge of Veritas Cluster Server products.

·        Knowledge of CA Autosys and ServiceDesk products is a plus.

·        Excellent oral and written presentation skills, particularly in technical writing to define system requirements and analysis.

·        Knowledge of financial business environments will increase the incumbent's potential for success.

·         At minimum, the incumbent must have demonstrated capability to operate in a highly technical environment.
Education

At minimum, the incumbent must have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field of study relevant to the position and demonstrated capability to operate in a highly technical environment.

ROLE SUMMARY:
Designing, developing, and delivering workforce reporting and analytics
Managing client relationships and developing new ones
Helping to support and developing the AskHR service delivery centre team

This role is responsible for WFA for the Americas region and provides support for IB.  It is one of a team of analysts (one in each region).
 
THE ROLE INVOLVES:
Manual data manipulation to produce OneBank dashboards and other regular deliverables.

Leadership / Management:
Senior resource managing specialist staff and workload distribution in support of multiple locations
Monitor output quality and volumes and adherence to agreed service levels
Evaluate requests for data, and assesses validity of the information that will form the basis for reporting
Determine systems data security access and workflow requirements from a HR business user perspective

Client / IT / HR Relations:
Manage client requirements through initiatives or upon request
Serve as main point of contact for all reporting capability in the region  
Drive relationship with external functions and regulatory bodies
Utilize Technology Delivery to introduce efficient production of reports

Functional / Process Group:
Provide timely workforce data in forms as required (pre defined or to custom)
Deliver ad hoc workforce reports in accordance with agreed service levels
Provide end user training to users on reporting tools
Deliver monthly WFA reporting to senior management
Blend data from various sources to a user friendly whole
Responsible for the processes surrounding the finalisation of HC Statistics

Broad objectives for 2010:
Continue to support WFA T2 within agreed parameters. Help to identify training issues and provide qualitative feedback on T2 agent performance with the aim of improving client service.
Foster a team environment and work together on BAU and special projects.
Review the WFA subject area, dashboards and reports

Proactively assist in the development and delivery of metrics/analytics

TO QUALIFY, YOU MUST POSSESS:

An RSVP list of attendees will be created and used to facilitate your networking activity. Current or last work affiliation, email address, and membership organization should be included in your RSVP. If you are in transition, please include the names of three target companies and the kind of position(s) you are seeking. If you are currently employed, you should provide the name of your last three employers. The preliminary RSVP will be distributed to the recipients of the initial mailing of this announcement and to all those on the list the week end before the dinner meeting for editing and informational purposes.  A "final" numbered RSVP list will be available at the registration desk on the 4th and can be used as part of your general introduction …"I'm # x on the RSVP list". Your number will also appear on your name badge which will be available at the registration desk on the 4th.
 
Since there will be walk-ins on the 4th, the final RSVP list will be emailed to the attendees as quickly as possible after May 4th.
 
We will accept a LIMITED number of walk-ins on May 4th.  Their cost will be $60 without exception as well as for RSVP's whose checks have not been received by COB on the May 3rd. There will be NO refunds and no shows WILL be billed.
 
Again, attendees should bring 50 copies of their bio/resume, leads or materials they wish to be included in the handout for the evening of May 4th.
 
If you would like to help out at the meeting on the 4th, volunteer to be a "Meeting Marshall".  Call John Sampson at 973-248-3251 for details. We can use your help!!!
 
Directions to the Holiday Inn at One Rt. 46 Westbound in Totowa Park can be found at www.holiday-inn.com/totowanj    Traffic congestion at rush hour is substantial on Rt 46, so you should allow an extra half hour  to get to the Holiday Inn on the 4th.
