We currently have a contract to hire opportunity for a BI-Feeds Software
Engineer at a major company in King of Prussia, PA.
The Software Engineer (3-5 years of solid Perl experience) within Feeds to plan,
support and maintain existing feeds system. Software Engineers well experienced
in Perl, Unix, Oracle (PLSQL). The Engineer will work closely with Database,
Architecture and other teams to implement functionality to meet established
requirements and objectives. Software Engineers are involved in all phases of a
project including planning, testing and ongoing support and maintenance.
Develop and enhance existing code based on project documentation including
written requirements, flow diagrams

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple projects and to influence to a positive outcome without escalation. May include interaction with different stakeholders across the enterprise, or may involve interaction with business stakeholders.
* Works with process management on the coordination and reporting of applicable project level metrics.
* May be responsible for business relationship management and for influencing business partner requests and decisions through strong negotiation skills, and provide valued managerial expertise that support established standards (e.g., process, architectural, development, quality).
* Manages business sponsorship expectations, understanding business drivers and, when required, negotiates changes to project scope, timing or resources to ensure that strategic solutions are delivered.
* Develops and executes detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports, issue management and risk mitigation.
* Works with process management on the coordination and reporting of applicable project level metrics.
* Through matrix management, is responsible for execution and delivery of projects through adherence to all IT project standards, defining and managing the project through the SDLC (i.e. Project Path) and associated IT processes (i.e. Building Permit, CUPID).
* Ensures SOX compliance for all project related work.
* Responsible for deploying projects on time, with quality, within budget, and as per specification (adhering to architectural design), effectively monitoring project risks, employing mitigation strategies where appropriate.
* Responsible for working with managers across the functional areas (Business Partner, Architecture Services , Development and Business Systems Support Services) to identify the appropriate project resources needed, assembling the project team, assigning individual responsibilities, and developing a schedule to ensure timely completion of project.
* Ensures that project team roles and project expectations are clearly communicated to all stakeholders including business subject matter experts and end users.
* Effectively manages the project team, demonstrating the ability to coach, mentor and positively influence others, providing timely feedback to individuals and resource managers.
* * Build and maintain an understanding of business processes and products across the Business Unit, establishing strong working relationships with counterparts across the functional areas.
RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree or Commensurate Experience
* 8-14 years of experience in technology, business, management or project leadership (experience in the Financial Services industry a plus)
* 5+ years project management experience
* Strong experience managing in a matrix environment
* Excellent project management skills, including ability to execute and prioritize a number of tasks simultaneously, and experience managing cross-functional teams.
* Proven financial management experience
* Demonstrated experience in project management and/or team leadership with high quality (i.e. proven track record)
* Excellent understanding of IT environments/technologies
* Excellent written and verbal communication, relationship management, interpersonal, conflict and negotiation skills

Must be able to work directly with the Compliance department to create and develop new Regulatory Reports and maintain existing suite of Regulatory Reports already developed and be able to follow-up and close open issues as they arrive.

My client kicked off a Canonical Data Model initiative to ensure that all data
on the enterprise SOA bus looks the same. It is a key requirement for a
successful enterprise SOA implementation.
While the manager has some data modeling experience and a vision for where they
want to be, they need an expert data modeler consultant for 3 months (extendible
to 6) beginning ASAP.

Here's a brief job description:
An top expert data modeler with hands on experience and demonstrable track
record and success designing and implementing financial data models to help them
develop a best in class CDM to complement their high volume very low latency
enterprise SOA foundation. The consultant will be working closely with the lead
architect and the SOA foundation lead engineer, as well as with technical
systems owners to review legacy systems and then design and implement the
enterprise-wide canonical data model.
Requirements:
1. Must - minimum of 5 years of hands on data model design in financial
industry
2. Hands on experience with data model designs in other industries (insurance,
retail, etc) is highly preferred, but not strictly required
3. Must - in depth understanding of FIX 3.x-5.x, FpML 4.x-5.x, SWIFT (in
general)
4. Must - Expert understanding of major assets classes across key regions US,

- Act as a technology liaison to the Business Stakeholders.
- Assist in institutionalizing defined application architecture patterns
and their use in various projects.
- Maintain awareness of industry changes in technology standards,
information management, development standards, methods and emerging 3rd party
software and determine how they can be utilized and applied in context and
applied to the core application architecture.
- Architect solutions to meet business requirements and ensure that they
follow the application architecture and other guidelines defined by IT.
- Participate actively during all phases of the Software Development
Lifecycle of multiple projects in parallel, and ensure that project deliverables
are met in time and with excellent quality.
