As a recruiter, I have been puzzled by a phenomenon that has become more
profound as the recession goes on. It is something that my colleagues in

Recently I heard an interesting statistic from a poll taken of recruiting and hiring managers. The poll uncovered that 75% of the people who review resumes said they read cover letters but only if they know the cover letter has been customized for the company and the position.

I have two ALWAYS statements regarding the job search and one Always is to ALWAYS send a cover letter. There is one cover format I recommend over any other: the T cover letter.

PC/POS HW Support Technician - Store�POS Support & Experiance needed

Position Summary:

The IT Support Technician provides technical support to Forman Mills for both
corporate and store systems. Selected candidate will provide PC user support,
moves, ads, changes, preventive maintenance, and upgrades. I.T. asset
maintenance for corporate and stores. Identifying, collecting, recycling, and/or
disposing equipment. Field support as needed to include software maintenance,
tuning, and upgrades in a retail environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Document, resolve and escalate (when necessary) help desk calls in a friendly
and professional manner.
Enter all service call details in the help desk system.
Remote phone and field support as necessary.
Provide technical support for corporate systems and store POS systems to include
software and hardware.

Troubleshoot technical issues within a Windows XP and Office 2003 environment.
Work closely with hardware and software vendors to resolve any open issues with
our corporate and /or store systems.
Configure / install store systems for new store openings.
Configure / install desktop / laptop systems / printers for corporate and retail
store users.
Available for on-site store visits for maintenance / install store systems.

Performance Standards:
Must understand that IT is a service organization with its main charter
supporting corporate, store and external customers.
Must comply with policies, procedures and accountabilities as defined by
management to support the business.


Job Specifications:
Must be able to manage time effectively.
Must be highly energetic, motivated, and posses the ability to work effectively
in a team environment.
Work pro-actively to resolve problems.
Should be knowledgeable with POS software and hardware, configuration of
desktops / laptops.
Very knowledgeable with Windows XP and MS Office 2003.
Available to travel to and resolve issues in the stores whenever it is
necessary.
Commitment to continual improvement of support process and standards.

Position Qualifications:
Associates degree in the IT discipline prefer B.S.
Good organizational and prioritization skills.
Friendly interpersonal skills.
Articulate / communicate clearly, professionally and effectively with people
with various levels of computer / systems experience.
Strong knowledge of Windows software products to include Office with Access.
Knowledge of Point of Sale systems, STS is a big plus
Excellent problem analysis and troubleshooting skills required.
Previous retail experience is a plus.
Reliable transportation.
PC imaging and cloning a plus
Networking skills is a big plus
