SQL Server DBA - New York City - $115K + bonus
Responsible for:
* ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support financial systems.
* ensuring that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases and high resilience and performance tuning.
* proactively monitoring the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.
* providing trend analysis to management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.
* all aspects of SQL database development lifecycle.
* troubleshooting and problem solving of SQL development.
* improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades.
* implementation and release of database changes according to agreed timescales and costs.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 7 years of experience with SQL Server Database Administration within an enterprise level, distributed Internet/Intranet client/server N-tier based system architecture.
* Strong understanding of, and experience with: managing multiple SQL Server 2005 & 2008 RDBMS on large systems; SQL Server 2005 and 2008 database design and development; Red Gate SQL Toolbelt.
* Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on Database projects.
* Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service.
* Practical experience in managing internal and external MS SQL database security.
* Experience with Transactional SQL stored procedures, and SSIS.
* Understanding of, and experience with, .NET framework (3.5, 4.0 a plus)and environment.
* Financial services experience a +.
