Regardless of whether you are married or with a significant other, no doubt
you've heard of "speed dating."
The goal is to talk to many potential dates as possible, in a tight time
frame, with just enough time to say your name and see if there's any
chemistry (or chemie, as we say in French), with the other partner.
No matter what your opinion is, speed dating and trying to find chemistry
with a potential employer who shares commonalities. Now that commonality has
transitioned into a trend called speed networking.

This month's Topic: Why Bother Networking
Most people dread networking since they
don't understand it, think that they are not good at it and while in transition
they do not feel good about themselves. About 60 to 80 percent of people get
their jobs through networking. Based on that fact alone, people in search of
their next position should master this art.
The audience will learn about:
* What is networking?
* How to network effectively, with whom and where?
* What are the common barriers to networking and much more.
This one hour long presentation will
clarify many of the myths associated with this subject.
About the Speaker:
Alex Freund is also known as the Landing Expert for publishing his
Landing Expert job-networking list via his Web site www.landingexpert.com . Alex is prominent in a
number of networking groups and also writes a blog for job seekers accessible
via the same Web site.
Alex had a successful career as corporate director at Fortune 500
companies. After graduating from CornellUniversity's
School of Hotel Administration, he worked in hotels and hospitals. And he's
managed some 35 different departments known as Facilities Administration or
Support Services.
Alex has extensive experience at interviewing people for jobs. He also has
practical training in career coaching. Consequently, he formed Landing Expert Career
Coaching services.

SECURITY
IN A VIRTUALIZATION ENVIRONMENT - Ron Stamboly, SafeNet,
Inc.

The issues and challenges of providing security in
virtualized infrastructures -- data ownership, data governance, data isolation,
and separation of duties -- are all new variants of some of the challenges IT
folks have wrestled with in centralized environments are even more challenging
now. Mr. Stamboly will discuss the various security issues associated
with operating in a virtualized environment and will offer suggested procedures
and solutions to cope with these new security-related responsibilities.
THE SPEAKER

Ron Stambolyis
currentlya Senior Systems Engineer with SafeNet, Inc. He has
been with the firm for over 9 years. Prior to employment at SafeNet, Inc, Mr. Stamboly
was the Director of Technical Operations – North America
for Cylink.
Ron has over 17 years of Telecommunication and networking equipment
experience, along with information security. This includes hardware and
software that covers Authorization, Access Control, Audit and Encryption. Most of his work for the past 15 years have
been in data encryption and control arena where he has been focusing on
Information Lifecycle Protection and Cloud computing environments.
He is a graduate of PaceUniversity with a master
in Telecommunications, and The State University of New York Institute of
Technology at Utica/Rome with a Bachelors
degree in Telecommunications.
