IMMEDIATE OPENING - Benefits Specialist

For the right candidate, the assignment would start immediately and would
continue to December 31,2009. We are hoping to locate the right candidate
and have this be a 4 month assignment. My organization is the hiring
organization but the project would be on assignment at our client's site in
North Jersey. Individual must have a driver's license. This is an onsite
assignment, remote interface is not an option. Candidates must have
experience in data management, leave of absence management, and exceptional
customer service/communication skills as interaction with the client's
employees and benefits and payroll staff would be required of the position.
Experience with payroll data or the retail industry/hourly workforce is a
plus. Qualified candidates should send a coverletter and resume to

screen and those with the right qualifications will be interviewed by our

Job Description -Temporary Assignment

Role: Benefits Specialist

Function: Human Resources

Department: Benefits

Reports to: Benefits Manager

Direct Reports: None

Overall Job Function: Provides administrative support in the day to day
administration of the company's premium contributions recapture process for
employees (Union & Non-Union) out on a Leave of Absence by providing
internal support to employees regarding their questions, processing
payments, maintaining a master spreadsheet, and issuing payment request
letters.

Job Responsibility including but not limited to:

* Accurately identifies LOA eligible employees from master leave
report and transfers data to master premium contribution spreadsheet
* Updates termination data to master premium contribution spreadsheet
* Identifies missed contributions data via payroll records
* Issues employee notices to employees out on LOA
* Collects monthly payments
* Issues follow-up letters to employees regarding partial payments,
missed payment, and /or termination of benefits
* Notifies [benefits administrator] to cancel benefits coverage and
extend COBRA
* Notifies [benefits administrator] to reinstate employee as active
member
* Creates ad-hoc reports when needed
* Identifies opportunities and solutions for improvement to premium
recapture administration.
* Assists Benefits Manager on any audits of employee benefits programs

* May be asked to support on other projects as assigned

Financial Accountability: None

Minimum Candidate Qualifications:

* Associate's degree or equivalent years of experience required.
* At least 3 years experience in an administrative role.
* Previous experience handling Benefits programs in a corporate
setting.

Skills, Abilities and Other Requirements:

* Ability to explain information in a clear and concise manner.
* Ability to work with internal customers on a day to day basis and
understand and meet their needs
* Ability to have a quick response time to each email and phone call
received
* Possess strong judgment in evaluating when escalated benefits issues
should be directed to Benefits Manager
* Ability to be professional and calm during peak times or when
dealing with difficult staff.
* Ability to objectively listen and discern the facts.
*
* Ability to work in a team or independently on assigned projects
* Knowledge of Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word (ACCESS helpful)

Location: Northern NJ

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 9 AM -5 PM; Subject to change over the lifespan
of the assignment.

Duration of Assignment: 4 months
