plan and execute projects that require close coordination with Business and
Information Technology groups. This position supports the product

The Manager will:

- Be accountable for the development of annual, monthly and ad-hoc,

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong chemistry
background and chem-informatics system implementation skills.
This person should have
• Advanced Chemistry (synthetic chemistry) training.
• Advanced experience in Pipeline Pilot protocol development and Chemistry
cartridge technologies (any vendor is fine)
• Experience in SOA architectural design
• Team leading experience
Tasks:
• Design the Chemistry processing framework that will work with FAST Search
Engine using SOA principles
• Lead a team of developers to implement and integrate necessary chemistry
processing service and workflow management service.
• Develop Pipeline Pilot protocols to process Chemistry Structural contents
embedded in documents.
• Evaluate and implement technologies for Chemistry Structural
indexing/searching, Chemistry Structural drawing and name-to-structure
conversions.

Project Description (confidential):
SEEK is our Google like enterprise searching tool implemented by PGM BT, and
it is a key component of the PGM Process Knowledge Management (PKM)
initiative. The goal of this new product is to add chemical structure,
sub-structure and reaction search capabilities to the SEEK search engine.
The new capabilities will expand the indexing operation of SEEK to include
chemistry structures, reactions and other chemical entities embedded within
documents. As the result of the project, SEEK will be one unified interface
to search, discover and retrieve for all chemistry driven information across
the enterprise.

The high level requirements of the systems include:
• Identify and extract chemistry information embedded in document contents
including embedded chemistry drawing objects, chemical names and chemical
IDs etc.
• Convert the embedded chemistry information into chemical structures and
store these structures into chemistry Index
• Provide a chemistry drawing tool on SEEK frontend and allow users to enter
chemical structural queries
• Display search results on SEEK result page seamlessly with all textual
search results

MANAGER NOTES:
• Hiring Manager prefers local candidates to the NJ/NY metro area since face
to face meeting will be required before an offer is made.
• All Candidates should be able to start fairly quickly. (2 week or less)
• Assignment is scheduled to last roughly Seven (7) months. Extensions
possible.
• The ideal candidate needs to have a broad base of technology experience.
Candidate needs to have a blend of technical and business skills to address
users from all business lines and levels.
• Work Schedule is listed as 40 hours. OT may be required at peaked times
and will be paid at straight time. All OT needs to be pre-approved.
• Pharmaceutical and/or Pfizer Experience is not required but would be a
plus.
