Required Skills/Experience  (must have)

 

Minimum of 5 years experience required in the Server Support, Win2003, 2008, (additionally should be able to provide first level support for Linux, HP Unix OS), server infrastructure, SMS, server maintenance/LAN administration;
Excellent skills required in: troubleshooting and problem resolution; interacting with customers on the telephone; verbal and written communications; teamwork; root cause analysis.

Must have the ability to lift/transport all required computer equipment. Must have valid drivers license.

Assignment

 

NOTE: This is for a Midnight  to 9am Shift, Monday thru Friday. Additional shift work may be required

The team is responsible for the server administration for all corporate servers  and supported site server rooms, and as such, be responsible for ensuring the reliability of all servers and related equipment.

Detail of Responsibilities:

. Maintain server and storage equipment and interface with vendors such as ERGO (all server hardware support), HP and IBM
. Performs administrative duties such as entering time sheets, updating task status in Magic on a daily/monthly timetable.
. Escalates problems to expert personnel in appropriate time frame.
. Manage storage array performance and conduct capacity planning
. Researches, diagnoses, and determines root cause of server problems
. Remote troubleshooting during night shift of all servers from the Network Operations Center
. Security Patching Support
. Assist Regional teams with scheduled tasks for Wintel, Unix, Linux servers
. Provide support / analysis as part of the NOC team.
. Assist Computer Operations with Server backup troubleshooting (Backup Exec 12.5)
. Physical Server / SAN / Infrastructure work at 4 IP
. Routine administration / maintenance of assigned (approx 100) servers

·         Completion of at least 30 semester hours of undergraduate coursework ideally with a focus in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related discipline.
