Our client is one of the world's leading financial
services
organizations.  This $multibillion corporation employs over 50,000
staff and are in the top 5 globally within their market. The US business is one of their fastest
growing markets driven by an aggressive acquisition strategy, investment and
organic growth.



Our client operates with a regional structure; regions are
given autonomy to run respective operations in line with local markets while
leveraging enterprise capabilities that span the group.  IT follows the same
principles with local IT management focusing on market specific requirements while
utilizing common & shared IT services that provide economies of scale and
share knowledge across the group.



The Divisional CIO will be the executive IT leader for a major  
business unit.  Key challenges will be realigning the IT function to the
regional model and transforming an operationally focused IT organization to a
strategy led, business aligned function.  This role will have a high degree of
autonomy and a true change agenda.  We are seeking an ambitious individual who
will also offer the company clear succession planning potential.



Candidate Profile:




A
     business leader first with broad credibility and the proven capability to
     align business imperatives to IT capability.
Experience
     of leading a large IT function (100+ staff)
Proven
     track record of transforming underperforming IT groups into an efficient,
     cost effective, goal congruent and high performing business function
Ability
     to leverage new technology developments/products to enable business innovation.
Sound
     Program Management
competency; used to corralling resources, that are both
     direct and matrix reports, towards common goals
Highly
     commercial,  used to managing large budgets and prioritizing investment
     based on sound principles of ROI
Able
     to operate within a global business; affect change within a sometimes
     complex regional and functional model where personal impact and influence
     is the key to success.
