Job Title

Product Manager

Description

The position is responsible for ensuring the most effective use of the
solution (Property & Casualty Applications - Infinity & Image Right), both
in the current and future. The Product Manager is responsible for the
product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including:
gathering and prioritizing product and business requirements, leading
engineering, development team, contractors and support to ensure timelines,
budget and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager's job
also includes coordination through a "product steering committee" composed
of business leaders to ensure that the product supports the company's
overall strategy and goals.

Position Reports To

CIO, Property & Casualty Division

Responsibilities

Operational

* Manage the prioritization and development of technology to provide
new insurance products and features

* Work closely with customer support to ensure issues are resolved and
user satisfaction is maximized

* Monitor service levels with the business (to ensure service levels
are met)

* Do business research to make informed product design decisions

* Ensure all interfaces to other systems are fully operational and
with sustained integrity

* Ensure appropriate documentation on the product (functional,
technical, user manual, etc.) is maintained

* Manages standards for all development, ensures development
methodology, change management process and PMO standards are followed

* Meet all corporate requirements for SOX, internal controls, and
information needs as required by the holding company

Planning

* Maintain a product plan ("roadmap") inclusive of functional and
technical upgrades

* Perpetually evaluate the use of the product within the business
to: (1) ensure maximum use of current functionality, and (2) identify
opportunities for product enhancements or changes

* Work with and through the Enterprise IT application development
organization for appropriate development of new releases and any changes to
the architecture of the product

Communication

* Communicate regularly (minimum of quarterly) with business
leadership (using the product) on operational status of the product, on the
roadmap for the product, on current and future costs, and other relevant
topics

* Lead steering committee meetings with business leaders to help
identify current and future plans for the product

* Define product benefits and internal marketing plans

* Promote the use of the product to gain maximum acceptance and to
maximize value to the corporation

Cost Management

* Track all costs for the product and report to business leadership
and IT management

* Help identify best mechanisms for allocation of costs to the
business and gain business leadership buy-in

* Plan for future costs

Management of Team

* Develop successor to the position

* Appropriately develop and manage technical resources, business
analysis and support staff

Secondary Responsibilities

Additional responsibilities:

* Ensure projects (for major new releases) will deliver appropriate
value for the costs. Ensure scope, schedule, and budget are met

* Participate in Enterprise IT leadership team activities and
function as defined by the divisional CIO or enterprise CIO

* As requested by business leadership and / or divisional CIO,
mentor local IT staff in the P&C business lines

* As requested by business leadership and / or divisional CIO,
participate and / or lead Mergers and Acquisitions due diligence analysis on
candidate acquisition companies in the P&C field, and help plan and lead
integration efforts on acquired companies

Position Skills and Requirements

Formal Education

* Must have a bachelor's degree, or higher

Knowledge and Experience

* Must have a working knowledge of P&C business

* Must have proven, successful experience in software development
and support

* Must have proven, successful experience in business executive
interaction including presentations

* Must have prior direct report management experience

* Strong grasp of user-experience design

* Great project-management skills

* Awareness knowledge of Microsoft technology (.Net, SQL Server)

Work Conditions Compensation

* Overtime hours may be required to fulfill job responsibilities

* Travel will be required (approximately 40%)

Compensation:

Base Salary to $115,000

Bonus-10%
