In conjunction with executive staff, you will provide strategic planning, technical direction, staff management, and oversight to our software development organization. You will interface with Project Managers, Software Developers, Business Analysts, and business stakeholders in both MA and NJ in a complex, matrix-managed environment to define and deliver software development initiatives. Throughout all of these efforts, you will be expected to follow and enforce adherence to the organizational Software Development Methodology. PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS AND QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field • 8 to 10 years of experience managing a technical staff in a professional services environment and in a senior management role • Excellent business function and process analysis and visualization skills • Strong project disciplines to assure timely, accurate delivery • Strong financial and resource management as it relates to the application development area • Must be comfortable with standard application development methodology – Discovery, Design, Implement, and Test – with experience translating client needs, goals and requirements into strong application and information designs. • Experience with developing: o Java, J2EE, Servlets, JSP o Microsoft, VB, COM, ASP, .NET, ASP.NET, ADO.NET (if we want more Microsoft oriented) o XML, XSLT, RDF, RSS o HTML, XHTML, CSS, Javascript o Web Servers (IIS, Apache, etc.) o Application Servers (WAS, Weblogic, etc.) o Database (SQL skills by itself, plus specific databases like DB2, SQL Server) o Architecture (n-tier, scalability, performance including load testing tools like Mercury Load Runner) • Direct experience in providing application architecture and design to development teams • Outstanding interpersonal skills, and excellent presentation skills • Very strong written and oral communication skills • Self-initiated and motivated, strong work ethic, enthusiastic and driven to succeed • Ability to work independently, but also successfully work on a team • Highest level of integrity and ethics, both professional and personal.
