AS/400 Engineer will oversee the day to day operation of critical CBS applications running on our AS\400 systems located in Brooklyn, New York. This individual will provide 24x7 problem/fault and change management support for all critical payroll, CBS Television Distribution, Outdoor and Showtime systems residing in this environment.
Ø Ensure all service levels are maintained for critical CBS business systems.
Ø Maintain software and hardware inventories
Ø Develop and execute operation tracking facilities and status reporting
Ø Handle mail merge printer output and delivery
Ø Maintain user accounts, access permission, usage and fees
Ø Maintain integrity of software and data libraries (tape, removable media)
Ø Recommend data purge, archive, and acquisition/
Ø Manage and ensure the integrity of host computers, databases, backups, disaster recovery and data transfer.
Ø Deploy and host security standards as per corporate guidelines.
Ø Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of AS\400 system environments.
Ø Design and implement disaster recovery plan for operating systems, databases, servers, and AS\400 applications as per corporate IT standards.
Ø Perform PTF installations as required
Ø Manage and maintain system partitions
Ø Perform break-fix on iSeries hardware
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years related IT experienceVendor Management Skills
IBM Systems i5/OS, Specifications, Standards, Performance, Support, Security, Remote Management, Images, Ghosting, AS/400 CL Control Language, AS/400 Libraries, Knowledge of DB2, Query/400, Knowledge of MIMIX, C, C++ and REXX programming skills, Systems platform technologies, Intel IA32/ IA64 bit system and operating environments, RISC/ RS64/ IMPI iSeries i5 systems
Data Network Skills/ strong knowledge in:
WAN / LAN, IP, Routing and Switching, DNS and DHCP
Skills/ Strong Knowledge in Security including:
DMZ, Firewalls, HID, HIP
Excellent writing skills
Strong teamwork skills
Excellent presentation skills
Strong leadership skills
Vendor negotiation skills
Ability to architect, design, document, present and implement (if necessary)
