Hi Stacey and Cindy,

I agree with Cindy. Read "Getting Things Done" by David Allen and begin to think of "time management" as (multiple-) project management. David Allen uses mind-mapping as an organizing tool. You might have an interest in following this blog on your home page: .
http://mindmappingsoftwareblog.com/ .  As Cindy said, Allen's primary rule is to get "stuff" into some central organizing space so that you don't go through the stressful paranoia of trying to hold it all in your mind. (Maybe I'm revealing a little too much of my own inner battles, here!)

In my earlier days, I used the Covey system and learned the importance of having and using a system. David Allen is better. Here is a link to GTD on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Getting-Things-Done-Stress-Free-Productivity/dp/0142000280/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1267397724&sr=8-1 .

For the record, I have absolutely no financial connection with either David Allen or GTD... just trying to help. (Note the extraorinarily high number of positive reviews on Amazon.) Some people have elevated David Allen to near cult-status. In fact, he is considered by many to be the "guru" of TM today. Don't be dismayed by his uber popularity. You will find that his system is both theoretically and practically sound. It does work... of course, if you work it. Good luck.

Stacey,
IMO, Getting Things Done by David Allen is the best Time Management/Prioriti zing/Organizatio n System around.  You can also get online systems and an iPhone app which allow you to put his system into action and have access to it all of the time.  When one of the trainers of his system was asked what is the one thing to do if you are only going to do one thing from his system, the answer was to write down all of your tasks/to-dos.  Getting them out of your head and onto paper makes a big difference.  David Allen also has coaches you can hire to support your work.  Good luck!

Warm regards,
Cindy

Hi everyone! In an effort to continue my growth & development at work, I need your help!

Can anyone recommend a good training company and/or book that will help with Time Management/Prioriti zing? I am looking to attend either a class in person or online within the next few weeks! Also looking to buy a book to read on the plan to Vegas in a few weeks! I am thinking of going through Franklin Covey. Or if anyone is really great at this, I would like to network with you!

Thanks everyone!

Stacey
