Skills Required DB specialist with skills in relational db theory, db design, DB2, sql, stored procs/triggers, optimization and archiving.
Strong track record of working with DB2 on Linux within investment banks/hedge funds
Proven ability to create and manage DB2 databases working in multi-person teams, alongside developers.
Ability to train other team members how to use DB2 effectively. 
Skills Desired Experience of Repo, Securities Lending or Collateral Management.
Experience of using agile development practices. 

 

 

  Applicant must meet ALL of these requirements.   Description:
The secured funding application development team at Company is looking for an experienced DB2 database specialist to join the team in New York.

They will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of developing and managing DB2 based applications for investment banks/hedge funds; taking logical datamodels, turning them into physical models, optimising queries and stored procedures, configuring the database for optimal performance and ensuring regular maintenance of the db is performed. They must have solid experience of using DB2 on Linux.

They will be working on a high-profile project to optimize the use of the firm's global inventory of collateral across all locations and asset classes. The project will create a new application which will run concurrently in multiple locations concurrently utilising DB2 on Linux as the database.

Experience of the repo, securities lending or collateral management business, while not required, will be desirable and the candidate will be expected to build an understanding of the business model.
