Hi Sarah,

I hope that you survived this bizarre weather well.  I was one of the very lucky ones that
had no power outages, no fallen branches, and no flooding.

ITIL BAs do not come to mind.  But I agree that the NJ IIBA would be a good place to look.
There is a place to announce jobs, but you need to be a member to do it.  Are you a member
of the NJ IIBA and/or the NJ IIBA LinkedIn group?  If so, you can post yourself.

I'll be happy to do this posting for you.
If you want, I could also post it to my NJ job-search Yahoo groups.

I would need an e-mail with job specs and your contact information.  I would instruct to contact
you, not me.

Referrals? ITIL BA Jersey City

Hi Ann!
How are you?  I hope you had a nice Labor Day weekend!

Would you happen to know any Business Analysts who are well versed with the ITIL process / capapcity management?  We have a Statement of Work opportunity with Bank of America in Jersey City.  Perhaps there is a spot on the IIBA website for jobs?  Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Are you enjoying your position with MetLife?

Looking forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
Sarah Tegen

Be Careful Where You Spray Your Resume Online

By Alina Dizik

When it comes to sending out your resume, not all exposure is good exposure.
Reapplying to the same company or posting your resume on all available job
boards can actually backfire, say experts.

"Don't think of the job search as a numbers game -- conduct a targeted job
search, targeted by job type and employer type," says Jim Grant, cofounder
of Cleveland-based Chagrin Valley Job Seekers.

Here's what to keep in mind when sending out your resume:

Emailing Your Resume

When searching for a job, there is nothing more frustrating than emailing
resumes and never receiving responses. For this reason, I took the time to
ask recruiters, hiring managers, and human resources representatives the
mistakes job seekers make when applying for a position electronically. Below
are the main points I got from the discussions.

Executive Resumes: The Top 5 Mistakes and How to Fix Them

By Jennifer Lawinski <http://www.cioinsight.com/cp/bio/Jennifer-Lawinski/>
on 2011-08-26

If you're a CIO-in-transition, or simply looking for new opportunities,
having a top-notch resume can make the difference between finding a great
new career opportunity and being buried in an avalanche of applicants. "When
the recruiter is coming after you, when you're the known commodity and
they've targeted you, having a good resume that tells a strong story is
important. But it's not as important as when you're trying to go to them,"
says Howard Seidel, Ed.D., J.D., and partner at Essex Partners, a career
management and transition consultancy for senior executives. If you're
between positions, or you've heard of an interesting opportunity for which
you've not been actively recruited, a top-notch resume can make all the
difference. What are some traits of the very best resumes Seidel has seen?
"It's like reading an outline. You want people to see the company, the
title, the core responsibility of the role and you want them to see the key
achievements of the role," Seidel says. The very best resume focuses a
recruiter like a laser on your talents and the legacy you've left behind
with previous employers. It says "this is why those companies are better now
than they were when I got there," he says. "People can go long periods of
time without a very strong resume. But a resume is one of those things that,
when you do need one, you need a good one. For that reason, it's important
that if you're going to build it, to build it with these principles in
mind." Here are the five most-common mistakes on executive resumes, and how
to fix them.
