Position Responsibilities – Summary

The Derivatives Systems Team is responsible for supporting and providing
advanced tools to book, price, and risk manage a broad spectrum of Fixed
Income, Equity, Commodity, and Currency derivatives to the firm's portfolio
management, trading, and operations. Members of the Derivatives team play
critical roles in firm's success by providing proprietary technology
solutions and supporting vendor applications which improve complex
investment decision-making, assist trading, reduce operational risk, and
improve efficiency.

This senior member of the Derivatives Systems Team will combine software
engineering with some derivatives experience and quantitative skills to
drive development of the next generation derivatives platform.

Key Responsibilities:

· Work closely with the Business Analysts team to understand
business problems and create effective technical solutions

· Participate in development and support for all Derivatives
applications including Calypso (vendor application) and multiple in house
built tools

· Participate in full-cycle software development including
regression testing, deployment, and support of new tools

· Stay abreast of the "state of the art" as it relates to technology
innovation and trends, both within the firm and throughout the industry

Required Skills and Competencies:

Keys to this Position:

1. Solid understanding and hands-on experience with core Java, XML,
HTML, WebLogic, Tomcat, IBM MQ, in UNIX and Windows environments

2. A minimum of five years of experience in the investment industry,
ideally with an asset manager, a hedge fund, or an investment bank

3. A minimum three years of experience with front office tools in one
or more of the following areas: derivatives, fixed income, equity, or
commodity systems

4. Demonstrated client focus and relationship management skills

Additional Qualifications

· Working knowledge of SQL and relational database technology

· Understanding of Derivatives or Fixed income instruments is a plus

· Former quantitative background is a plus

· Excellent written and verbal communications skills

· Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical
production environment

· Strong delivery focus and ability to overcome obstacles

· Advanced degree in computer science, mathematics, physics,
statistics, or another quantitative field

The Research & Rapid Solutions team within the Investor & Client
Applications (ICA) group seeks an individual who will take on a hands-on
technical leadership role across the suite of portfolio of applications and
tools developed in this space but also make important contributions in
connection with projects spanning areas of support, portfolio construction,
derivatives and at the IS department level. In the Research and Rapid
Solutions domain, this individual will be responsible for owning the
technical outcomes and providing solutions to address investor needs. The
projects will range in complexity and originate from our business sponsors
or from other application teams. It is expected that this individual will
become knowledgeable in short order across the business domains,
applications and processes that we support, such as valuation models,
research and collaboration platforms, risk management and product management
frameworks. This individual will also be heavily involved in designing,
supporting, improving the overall architecture blueprint within this area.

The Lead Systems Analyst will work with globally located investors and team
members to analyze and implement projects, delivering custom solutions to be
used in the investment and research process. Daily activities will include
application support, hands on design and development, project management,
requirements gathering and documentation, application design, code reviews,
implementation, testing/quality assurance, and end-user training. This
position requires technical proficiency and a high level of direct
interaction with end users and provides a broad set of opportunities
including application development, project management and client management.

Key Responsibilities:

· Work closely with investment professionals located globally at all
levels of the organization to provide solutions using the follow-the-sun
approach for existing applications and proactively identify opportunities
for new/improved systems. Partner with users to iteratively deliver
applications that are critical to their investment process. On an ongoing
basis provide enhancements to previously deployed solutions.

· Collect, document and implement systems requirements.

· Set development standards, code solutions and perform code
reviews, where applicable and ensure development practices adhere to firm
guidelines

· Perform data gap analysis and facilitate remediation efforts

· Plan and manage small and large sized support projects and perform
development and deployment

· Work with users to prioritize needs and provide communication to
keep them apprised of progress.

Required Skills and Competencies:

· Strong understanding of the investment process, research
workflows, equity & derivative securities, and market data services e.g.
Bloomberg desktop and Server APIs, FactSet, etc.

· Minimum 6 years experience as a Software Developer supporting
medium to large application development life cycles

· Strong understanding of Object Oriented concepts

· Demonstrated experience of Design and Development using Java based
technologies.

· In depth knowledge and experience of the Spring Framework.

· Strong understanding and proven experience with technologies such
as web-services, XML/XSLT, JSON is required.

· Strong understanding and experience of Messaging Framework
especially using JMS (experience with Active MQ will be a plus)

· Understanding and Experience with building performance (speed and
accuracy) critical applications is required.

· Experience in using scripting tools such as Perl, Shell Scripts is
required.

· Understanding of applications that use Rich Desktop clients is
required.

· Must possess PL/SQL programming and SQL tuning skills

· Experience with building Rich Client Applications User Interfaces
either using Eclipse RCP or Java Swing is preferred.

· Experience with various software development methodologies, such
as Agile or RUP

· Microsoft Office application expertise, in particular with Excel
and the creation/maintenance of Excel VBA macros would be considered a plus

· Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and
verbal are required

· Ability to work independently and own projects from beginning to
end

· Strong motivation and ability to work in a fast paced team
environment

· Proven ability to support multiple applications simultaneously
managing milestones effectively
