Java Developer
Principal Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the day-to-day technical development and support of trading infrastructure and algorithmic trading modules
• Develop and support the technical architecture and quality of in-house and third-party solution development and integration activities
• Assist in ensuring that products are delivered according to requirements
• Analyze, design, code and test software components
• Review technology architecture periodically and look for opportunities to improve existing components and interfaces
• Adopt and ensure adherence to firm's technology standards & process governance practices
• Innovative problem solving that can quickly prototype solutions and manage their full-scale development
• Promote and ensure software reuse and modularity
• Perform application development and support in a manner that is on time, on budget, and on scope.
• Facilitate smooth deployment and stabilization of new software releases by coordinating with internal and external teams.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
• Knowledge of equities, futures, options, FX, pairs, smart order routers, and VWAP is desired
• Experience with a PNL system is helpful
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux required
• Experience with Tibco Rendezvous, Gemfire, and Streambase is a big plus
• Detail oriented; Demonstrates thoroughness and strong ownership of work
• Ability to work independently
• Good team player with a strong willingness to participate and help others
• Able to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment; Good sense of urgency
• Strong interpersonal communication skills

This month's Topic:  Interview Questions that Stump You
 
Briefly we will
look at the recruiter's perspective and goals for an interview. Then we will
focus the majority of the meeting on questions candidates find the most
difficult to answer. Attendees at the meeting will be asked to share very
challenging interview questions they have had to answer - we will brainstorm
about these real-life interview scenarios. The end result of our discussions
will be to generate a variety of ways to overcome the questions that become
roadblocks during interviews.
 
About
the Speaker:  Anne Pepper has 25 years
of experience as a Human Resources Generalist. She has management and
leadership experience in a variety of industries within both for-profit and
not-for-profit organizations. Her areas of specialization include recruitment,
employee relations, preventive labor relations, training, and organizational
development, in start-ups and high growth businesses. As both an internal and
external consultant, Anne acquired expertise in developing organizations
through strategic business partnerships and customer focused Human Resources
operations. 

Anne provides personal career services to job seekers, as well as customized
Human Resources solutions to small and medium sized businesses. Anne is a
