Summary:

The firm's Application Teams utilizes a centralized development DBA team to
support its ongoing development initiatives and provide day-to-day systems
support. This Systems Engineer function will specialize in offering DBA
support to application development teams. This individual will meet
regularly with development teams to understand their day-to-day and
strategic long-term needs. This will be "hands on position" with
opportunities to experiment and learn new technologies.

Required Skills and Competencies:

· Minimum 8 years experience as an Oracle Database
Administrator supporting enterprise critical production databases on LINUX
and UNIX/Solaris

· Good communication skills, both written and verbal

· Good PL/SQL programming skills

· Good understanding of Oracle Internals (Memory, Dictionary,
Optimizer, etc)

· Good understanding Oracle 11g new features in the context of
application enhancement

· Good understanding of Oracle 11g optimizer and differences
between older versions

· Experience in PL/SQL and SQL code tuning

· Good "Client" focus while dealing with application
development teams

· Proven multi-tasking experience across multiple simultaneous
initiatives

· Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to a dynamic
environment

· Experience in advanced technologies such as partitioning,
queuing, replication…etc.

· Good understanding of database object types such as tables,
indexes, pl/sql, types, sequences, synonyms..etc.

· Good knowledge of Oracle 11g installs, config and patching

Position Responsibilities - Summary

The Enterprise Architecture group is looking for a Data Architect/ Modeler/
Strategist covering Enterprise Investment Data - Instrument, Portfolio,
Exposure/Risk Analytics, and Investment Research.

The successful candidate will work with a team of front office investment
technologists to define and deliver the Data Strategy, group wide. S/he will
at the same time play a key role in influencing the strategic and tactical
direction of the data architecture team, governance, implementation of data
strategy, data design, modeling and security. On a day-to-day basis, s/he
will provide analysis and recommendations on data functions, procedures and
policies to mission critical systems in the area of investment research and
portfolio construction. The successful candidate will be regarded as a
trust-worthy authoritative data expert across fixed income and equity
domains.

The candidate should have a proven track record in developing and delivering
Data Strategies surrounding Investment Management Data. Strong experience
in Data Modeling, Data Design, Data Governance, Investment Management
processes, systems, quality assurance and an awareness of Market and
Reference Data landscape are critical. Superb ability to learn new knowledge
and acquire new skills on-the-fly is essential to success in this role.

Delivery focus is a key attribute for this role. Other essential skills
include: consensus building, team management, project management, and
negotiation skills. Hands-on involvement to resolve issues is regularly
required and the candidate should be adept in navigating a mission critical
fast-paced environment.

This role reports to Manager of Data Architecture within IS. The candidate
will work quite independently in a very entrepreneurial fashion.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop, promote, and build consensus around data architecture for
the investor and client teams, providing technical leadership for developing
and maintaining solutions.

· Identify gaps in the Data Model and address them actively in
collaboration with business facing teams using a deep understanding of
financial services.

· In collaboration with the application teams, define, develop,
maintain, and communicate information movement standards that will be used
by our systems.

· Align Investment Data Architecture efforts with other Enterprise
Architecture/ Information Management counterparts to ensure overall
alignment of architecture components.

· Define, own, and drive the evolution of our Investment Data
Architecture.

· Establish and maintain effective relationships by having a high
degree of continuous interaction with our internal clients.

· Work with our internal clients to proactively identify and
prioritize opportunities for new/improved capabilities.

· Own, track, and research investor-related data production issues
and work with appropriate teams on continuous improvement.

· Act as the thought leader and "go to" person within information
services for investment and client data matters.

· Stay abreast of the "state of the art" as it relates data
architecture throughout the investment industry.

Required Skills and Competencies:

· Master's degree in software or systems engineering, computer
science, information systems management or the equivalent.

· At least 10 years progressive experience in Data Architecture
disciplines, i.e., data modeling, architecture and integration.

· Proven experience in developing and delivering data-related
financial solutions aligned with an overall data architecture.

· Experience in developing and implementing Investment Data delivery
architecture plan, standards and guidelines, software development
methodologies and strategic plans.

· Comprehensive understating of the financial services industry
including diverse asset classes (equities, fixed income, derivatives) data
lifecycle. Understanding of Asset Management a plus.

· Broad experience in software development life cycle, in particular
development management background, is highly desirable.

· Knowledge of a variety of tools, technologies and capabilities
relating to the creation, dissemination and calculation of financial-related
data.

· Experience in developing data movement/ data integration standards
and architecting scalable service oriented solutions.

· Hands-on experience with ETL, CDC and ESB tools such as DataStage,
Shareplex a plus.

· Solid understanding of transaction and information systems, data
warehouses, data marts, ODS, MDM methodologies and life cycle as well as ETL
and MDM technologies.

· Strong facilitation skills to engage subject matter experts to
define data requirements and conduct data modeling design reviews with
project teams.

· Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to explain
and document the Data Architecture to diverse audiences (technical,
business, etc).

· Highly self-directed and able to manage and prioritize multiple
concurrent and competing challenges, issues, ambiguities, and
contradictions.

· Strongly self-motivated and entrepreneurial personality.

1. Technical: This candidate will have strong Technical skills with Data
Modeling, Data Architecture and Integration. Solid understanding of Data

This individual will be responsible for leading the Windows desktop
engineering team. The responsibilities include designing and managing large
infrastructure migrations, evaluating new technologies, engineering desktop
solutions and providing L3 support. In this role, this individual will
assists project manager in the planning and technical direction of projects,
working with the developers, architects and end users to implement product
solutions to meet the business requirements.
