Educational Technology Manager
Company located in Northern New Jersey
Job Summary:
The position is based within Information Technology Department. This position will report to the Leader of Information Technology Department.   The incumbent will lead the educational technology team and work closely with associates to support their technology related projects. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the backbone of the entire Learning Management System (LMS) from the ground up.  This position is located in Teaneck NJ. Relocation to Teaneck, NJ may be considered.
Job Responsibilities:
·         Act as a liaison between Information Technology and associates.
·         Provides support to the teams that are using learning management systems, data-driven decision support tools, videoconferencing, audio/video tools, webcasting and all other technologies that support learning.
·         Work closely in conjunction with the e-Training team leader to support e-Training technologies.
·         Keeps current with technology, workplace innovations and obtains relevant training that support job functions.
·         Develops computerized solutions (e.g. customizing and/or designing electronic documents, creating and/or updating user databases, specialized queries, etc.)
·         Respond to support requests regarding the Learning Management System and other technologies within one business day.
·         Resolve technology issues related to the LMS.
·         Perform system admin tasks along with the e-Training team leader for the LMS.
·         Manage and test upgrades to the LMS and other technologies.
·         Maintain open communications with LMS and other software vendors to ensure high level of technical support. Provide escalation services and communication paths.
·         Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of instructional multi-media programming as required.
·         Run system reports on key learning metrics and provide data to upper management, when required.
Job Requirements:
·         Master's degree in Computer Science, Educational technology or other appropriate field. Bachelors with relevant experience may be considered.
·         Hands on knowledge of online learning technologies, multi-media and alternative instructional technologies.
·         3-5 years of experience in supporting e-Learning and educational technology projects.
·         Hands-on backend experience with Learning Management System is preferred.
·         Proficiency with web-conferencing software and digital audio/video editing and authoring preferred.
·         Must be proficient in web-design, fireworks and Captivate. Experience with Adobe Flash and Dreamweaver a plus.
·         Solid knowledge of in database design (SQL Server 2005 and above), php scripting, html, javascript and other design related applications.
·         Knowledge of .NET and Visual Studio 2003 and above
·         Knowledge of data integration and synchronization process; prefer hands on experience
·         Knowledge of widely-used hardware, software, applications, resources and techniques within an education industry.
·         Ability to organize; prioritize and work efficiently under pressure and subject to changing priorities; proven experience managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and using judgment and initiative in problem resolution.
·         Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
·         Strong customer service skills and professionalism.
·         Excellent oral and written communication skills including spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills.
·         Must be a self-starter who displays excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to effectively organize and direct staff by providing a team approach for planning, development and operation of the department.
·         Innovative and proactive problem-solving skills with strong business acumen, a solid understanding of group and corporate dynamics and the ability to exercise integrity and sound judgment in complex business situations.
·         Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals at all levels in a large, complex, non-hierarchical organization as well as the ability to work with executives and senior leadership in a corporate environment.

Education: A Bachelors degree in finance/accounting or equivalent work
experience. 10 years of previous experience in reinsurance accounting.
Extensive understanding of reinsurance accounting concepts or
techniques.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position may have supervisory
requirements.

The title is Technical Support Analyst which may be subject to change.

Essential Duties:

* Exercises discretion and independent judgment with
respect to matters of significance.

* Ensures that all designated accounts and cash payments
are received and processed on a timely basis. Follow up with broker on
delinquencies.

* Ensures ceding companies supporting documentation is in
compliance with the treaty terms.

* Ensures that all statistical information on his / her
accounts is allocated properly in the system, based on treaty terms.

* Responsible for the calculation and / or verification of
various treaty adjustments, including RRP, SSC, PRC, deposit premium
adjustments, reinstatement premiums. Performs delinquency follow up with
broker to ensure timely receipt of calculations and payments, based on
treaty terms.

* Researches, reconciles and resolves account
discrepancies

* Reviews and interprets treaty contract wordings.

* Analyzes cash flow, reports on its implication to
management by monitoring cash receipts/disbursement, overdue accounts.

* Provides assistance in the quarterly closing process and
does special projects as assigned

* Provides support to staff, in regards to specific
account issues. Reviews work performed by the staff, offers guidance and
assists in bringing account issues to resolution.

* Keeps Reinsurance Accounting Management and the Account
Underwriter aware of unusual or significant activity within a treaty

Job Requirements:

* Must be able to analyze data, resolve problems and make
decisions

* Must possess solid planning and organizational skills,
oral and written communication skills, reconciliation skills and
supervisory skills.

* The incumbent must successfully interact with other
members of the Accounting staff and all other departments in the
company.

* Experience in treaty reinsurance accounting and exposure
to all facets of reinsurance accounting including the ability to
interpret contract agreements

* Must have in depth knowledge and understanding of
calculating and reconciling treaty premium, loss and commission
adjustments.

* Maintains confidentiality of company-sensitive data
* Keeps manager informed of activities and situations,
which will impact the achievement of corporate, and department goals and
objectives.
* Performs other related duties as required to achieve the
goals and objectives of the company and department.

Here's an opportunity for a top-notch Accountant to begin a three-month, full time assignment tomorrow at a well regarded personal products company in mid Fairfield County, CT.

In this role you would work directly with the owners of the company and a small accounting department of two. Good communications skills and the ability to take initiative are critical.. You would replace and be trained by an Accountant who is leaving on August 7th--and you would in turn train the new permanent Accountant who will start in three months.

To qualify for this role you must have an in depth knowledge of AP/AR, payroll and cash management--and the ability to learn a straightforward proprietary accounting system quickly.

In addition to AP/AR, payroll and cash management responsibilities, you would also, for example, process customer credit card refunds, prepare sales commission statements, prepare 1099s, run income statements, run sales tax liability reports, review suspense account and handle HR tasks such as assisting new hires with paperwork for direct deposit and insurance enrollments.

Compensation will be in the $30 per hour range.
