New York boost health coverage

7/30/09

Folks,

Those of us in NYS, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal, Gov. David Paterson has signed a law that will extend the health coverage to your kids up to the age of 29 if you are still employed. This will help a lot of us who have children that are recent college grads but do not have any full time jobs.

In addition COBRA has been extended to 36 months.

All this is effective as of 9/1/09. You will need to do some follow up work on your end.

In addition this is a good time to review all your insurance policies. I just saved a nice piece of change on my car insurance because I am not doing as much traveling as in prior years.

Regards,

Rob
