Reports to the Assistant Director, Mechanical Operations. Responsible for all facets of maintenance operations within a facilities designated zone; ensures that the workforce is properly deployed in order to respond to planned, preventative, and emergency work. Supervises multiple craft personnel and provides leadership in a total quality environment, guides and instructs personnel on technical matters, prioritizes the routine repair work requested by both internal and external customers, and evaluates and responds to emergency trouble calls. Negotiates and obtains vendor commitments regarding time, price, etc. and meets with customers on a regular basis to ensure open lines of communication and determine needs.

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience, plus five years industrial experience in building systems, electrical/mechanical operations, and repair to include supervisory experience. Also requires excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; computer proficiency; familiarity with a computerized maintenance management system; knowledge of building codes; and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
