Corporate Quality Improvement Manager

Located in Greater Detroit, MI
Salary is in the $85,000 - $90,000 range

The company is a leader in the rigid plastic container industry, with
numerous high speed manufacturing facilities in the United States, South
America and Europe. Products include HDPE and PET containers used for the
packaging of hundreds of consumer goods, from soft drinks and laundry
detergent to salad dressing and motor oil.

Responsibilities:

* Lead the Continuous Improvement team that will consist of Corporate
Quality Engineers and Corporate auditors.
* Actively engage with all manufacturing locations to drive
standardized processes for quality and ensure compliance with corporate
requirements.
* Use the ISO process to drive process improvements.
* Establish appropriate metrics to measure and benchmark global
manufacturing facilities against each other.
* Drive a culture of process control and variability reduction at the
manufacturing locations
* Lead effort to implement best practices across plants, ensuring
adherence to the principles of lean manufacturing.
* Lead Process Improvement teams using Lean Sigma principles to
minimize Quality claims and internal reject PPM's.
* Work with manufacturing sites to drive to root cause on quality
issues and interface with customer to communicate changes and
improvements.Skills/Qualifications

Must have a Four year Statistics or Engineering degree with at least 7 years
experience in a manufacturing and / or Quality assurance environment
Certified Lean Six Sigma black belt, with min 3 years experience utilizing
those skills with a sound understanding of ISO 9001, preferably a certified
lead auditor

We currently have multiple
positions for RPG Software Engineers in King of Prussia, PA. The job spec
is as follows:

Principal Software Engineer

Responsibilities:

The Principal Software Engineer
(PSE) is responsible for setting Supply Chain Management (SCM) System technical
solution direction and the ultimate success of its implementation to align with
business strategy. As an SCM professional, you will educate project team
members on business unit goals and objectives and educate the business on the
value of information technology. You'll serve as the primary liaison between
the SCM software development team, larger project team members, business
stakeholders, and external clients. Through excellent verbal and written
communication skills and the ability to translate between technical and
business language, you'll work collaboratively, negotiating technical
requirements across various groups. You will learn and share a comprehensive
understanding of the overall IT architecture, both current and future roadmap,
to ensure long-term alignment.

Extended responsibilities include:
* Designing, developing and implementing highest-quality software application solutions for internal and external business users on an AS/400 (i5) platform
* Apply knowledge and best practices to support users in the implementation and on-going development of SCM retail ERP applications
* Build online applications, complex integrations, batch processing, and back-end databases using primarily CL, a variety of RPG versions, and XML
* Properly document technical solutions, programming code, and project details according to company development standards
* Operate as a subject matter expert to review technical system requirements and ensure alignment with business requirements
* Participate in discovery, business requirement, technical design, testing and architecture work sessions
* Responsible for the collection, analysis, design and documentation of SCM related technical requirements
* Creates level-of-effort activity and project hour estimations used in planning resource activities
* Acts as lead technical designer providing technical guidance and leadership to both onshore and offshore development resources
* Promotes technical vision and sound development principles among development staff members
* Configure applications based on requirements submitted by business partners and company development best practices
* Develop test cases or test approach, write and execute unit test, regression test, and debug programs as assigned. Review the test plan and monitor the testing process to ensure that business results are adequately tested and the remaining risks are acceptable.
* Coordinate activities with business systems analysts, developers, QA analysts, PSEs, and project managers
* Participate in projects and provide cross-functional IT application support coordination on issues & design planning for new initiatives where product structure may impact SCM, reliability, and effective order processing
* Assist with risk management and change management on projects
* Work independently with minimal direction
* Serve as a project team member or may lead teams with project owner accountability for budget, resource, quality, and project schedule delivery
* Work with management in evaluating application infrastructure and developing SCM roadmap to ensure future alignment with company aggressive business growth
* Analyze and design technical, functional and architecture improvements to core infrastructure to improve feature/functionality performance, capacity and scalability of company Supply Chain Management Systems
* Develop and propose changes in process, policy and standards as they relate to the software development organization

Qualifications:


Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Computer Science/MIS, Engineering or related field
* 7-8+ years programming in RPG III and IV, ILE, XML, and CL at a Senior Programmer/Analyst level working in software development and/or implementing ERP, Order Management and Distribution software systems in a retail, distribution, e-commerce, or high tech company
* Experience working with Order Management, Shipping, Advance Pricing, Inventory, Purchasing, Financials, and/or Cost Management business processes
* Demonstrated experience working with FTP, sub-file processing, stored procedures, database triggers, linking/binding in ILE, SQL, and embedded SQL
* Knowledge in Aldon Change Management or similar package
* Good knowledge of project management fundamentals and experience running small to mid-size projects
* Must possess understanding of business processes and ability to solve complex problems
* Critical thinker and demonstrated ability to mitigate project risks
* Excellent listening, verbal and written communication, reporting and presentation skills
* Ability to interface and work with varying levels of the organization, from users to management, in a highly interactive culture
* Strong business acumen and working knowledge of functional and procedural process modeling methodologies
* Self-starter with initiative and the ability to manage workload prioritization
* Ability to multi-task across multiple concurrent projects
* Strong customer interaction, organizational and time-management skills
* Must possess the ability to deliver high quality work products on time with minimal direction
* Self-starter, can-do positive and proactive attitude

Desirable Skills and
Experience:
* JDA retail application experience a plus (MMS or SODA)
* Strong database design experience
* CA AutoSys integration experience
* EDI and ETL experience in integrating packaged software solutions with i5
* Web services integration to/from i5
* Experience with Web Sphere and/or Java is a plus
* PMI Project Management Certified
