Technical Lead/Lead Developer PIIM Parsons The New School for Design The technical lead will manage a software development team and guide the conversion of a VBS and .NET-based healthcare application to a new UI-centric RESTful web service using Java Portlet Specification 2.0. The technical lead will fully support the program managers to achieve the project goals. Additional responsibilities are to support other project development teams, engineers, usability consultants, documentation, and operational groups. This position provides both architectural and managerial opportunities. Please note: this is a grant-funded position with an estimated duration of 24 months (contingent upon grant funding) with a possibility of extension. Responsibilities: * Guide software projects from requirement definition through design, implementation and maintenance * Lead a small team of software engineers in a development process that is productive, efficient, and nimble * Guide the conceptualization and architecture of UI-centric RESTful web service, implementing selected areas directly and overseeing the development of other areas by members of the team * Establish project scope, assign resources and estimate development schedules Requirements: * Stong skill set in RESTful Web Services and Programming, Java Portlet Specification V.2, JSON, LAMP, XML, VBS and .Net Architecture, C#, UI-Centric, SQL Knowledge, Technical Lead and Support, EMR, HL7, Healthcare, SOA * Excellent leadership skills and a minimum of 5 years experience guiding software projects through the development cycle * Software engineering principles and solid development experience, preferably architecting web service UI-Centric solutions * Ability to express technical ideas and concepts * Experience developing User Interfaces for healthcare software or other scientific domains * Experience with Java Portlet Specification V.2-based development * Experience with .NET-based development * Experience with RESTful web service development, JSON and LAMP programming * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Ability to lead technology, architecture and design development between multiple projects * Ability to assist in resolving system-related issues involving multiple products * Ability to lead requirements analysis, specification writing, system architecture and design, high level design, detailed design, coding, testing, debugging, integration and documentation * Perform product test, subsystem test, and integration test to ensure correct operation and quality * Estimate work effort and resources necessary to complete product schedule.
