Agile Requirements: Not an Oxymoron
Presented By Ellen Gottesdiener
Traditional approaches of requirements seem to contradict how agile teams might
approach requirements. Misconceptions abound about how agile projects develop
requirements and whether they even do analysis. In practice, agile projects use
requirements as the basis for planning, development and delivering business
value. In this Webinar, requirements expert and agile coach Ellen Gottesdiener
will describe how agile and requirements combine to form a sound and sensible
union.

Positive Solutions for Individual and Team Success
Greetings!
It's summertime and while on vacation this week I've been reflecting and
recharging. Instead of my usual business focused newsletter I've written
something a little different. Enjoy!

IT'S ABOUT YOU
In Rick Warren’s mega best-seller Purpose Driven Life he famously begins the
book with “It’s not about you.” While I understand his intention with this
statement I think he should have begun with “It’s about you, however, it’s
notjust about you.”
Because I believe it is about you. If it weren’t about you, you wouldn’t be
here.
You are not an accident.
You are here for a reason.
You have a destiny.
You have a purpose.
You have gifts and talents.
You do things that only you can do in the way you do them.
You and only you can leave your mark on the world.
So it is about you!
However, it’s not just about you. Because if it was just about you, you’d be:
Self-serving
Alone
Narcissistic
Empty
Unfulfilled
It’s about more than you. It’s about knowing you were made for relationships:
To love
To mentor
To learn
To serve
To create
To build
To dream
To work together
To change for the better
It’s about living for more than you.
For a bigger purpose.
For a greater cause.
For a deeper meaning.
For those who will become your legacy.
It’s about you knowing you are part of something much bigger than you.
You live in a universe.
Uni-verse means one-song.
Songs don’t happen by accident.
Songs are created by organizing notes into arrangements and patterns.
And so there is a Creator of the one-song.
You are an expression of the Creator.
You are a note in His symphony.
It’s about you!
It’s about you contributing to the one-song.
It’s about you playing your part to the best of your ability.
It’s about you lifting others up.
Its about you living the purpose God created you for.
It’s about you, the Creator, and the song becoming one.
It's about you and now what you do is up to you.

On Saturday August 14th, The Breakfast Club NJ will be hosting Mike Palestina as
our guest speaker.

He will be speaking on How to create and execute a Career Marketing Plan

A short summary of the topic is below.

Beginning a job search can be a stressful and challenging time for many of us.
Those in transition will need to focus and develop an overall search strategy
with the objective of minimizing the duration of their search. Updating your
resume, networking, and preparing for interviews are some of the obvious
elements of a good search strategy.  However, a less obvious element is
documenting a Marketing Plan.  A Marketing Plan may be the single most important
element of your transition strategy. Our discussion today will identify all of
the elements of a good overall strategy but we will focus most of our time on
developing and utilizing the Marketing Plan.

Information on The Breakfast Club NJ:

A group that I have been associated with and very active in for almost 4 years
now is The Breakfast Club NJ.  This is a group of people (networking group) who
get together on the 2nd Saturday of each month for a presentation and
networking.  There is also a Yahoo Group; a LinkedIn group; and a Facebook Group
for The Breakfast Club NJ.

The August Meeting is Saturday, August 14, 2010.  There is information below on
the location, other information, etc.  There is a meeting fee of $10 to help us
cover the cost of the hotel conference room for the meeting.

I am the official greeter at the door, so when you come down the stairs, I will
be the first person you meet.  There is a lot to gain from attending the
meetings and joining the group (there is no fee).  There are over 2,500 member
locally in the Yahoo group, and over 1,000 in the LinkedIn group.

Go to http://www.thebreakfastclubnj.com for more information and how to join the
Yahoo group.  You can join the yahoo group at anytime; you do not need to have
attended a meeting.  You can also attend meetings at anytime without having
joined the yahoo group.

If you have any questions, please let me know.
