JOB SUMMARY:
With a strong emphasis on  Cobit and ITIL   frameworks ,  the AVP of Systems Engineering is responsible for the  planning,  engineering and  operation of  all enterprise servers and enterprise storage .  Responsible for the management and direction of  systems  engineering and administration functions to include the following:  creation and management of operating and capital budgets, resource planning, project tasking and coordination, and management of personnel.  The incumbent must possess superior skills and knowledge across multiple technical disciplines with proven management and leadership experiences with technically diverse service groups.  Responsible for delivering negotiated  service levels  to  internal and external customers.

This position is considered essential to operations and will be required to be available during an emergency.  Additionally, the associate filling this position will be required to maintain an on-call status.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:      
1.            Ensure the systems architecture  and supporting processes  are  in compliance with all applicable Corporate and IT   Security Policies and Procedures. 

2.            Responsible for the coordination of  Systems Engineering  departmental activities and projects for all engineering and administration personnel.

3.            Manages day to day operations of a medium -sized department.  Ability to handle conflict resolution, performance evaluation, interviewing and hiring practices.  Directly supervises associates at the Director , Architect and Engineer  leve l s .

4.            Leads the strategic planning at the departmental level to ensure infrastructure capacity meets current and future requirements and develops the methodologies for performance, capacity and availability management.

5.            Responsible for management of  Systems Engineering  staff and budget.

6.            Ensures that defined functions work effectively to meet customer needs.

7.            Actively participates in the Change Management process to ensure that appropriate policies and procedures are followed and that changes are introduced into the production environment in an governed manner, with no negative business impact.

8.            Performs complex technical analysis of software, hardware, and network systems for integration in the corporate infrastructure.

9.            Develop technical standards, and assist in the planning of solutions which must integrate with the corporate infrastructure.

10  .          Manages the deployment of corporate IT solutions and coordinates future project expansion.

11 .          Sets engineering project priorities in cooperation with other Infrastructure Services groups.

12 .          Manages Service Support project timelines and implementation schedules.

13 .          Ensures Business Continuance/Disaster Recovery systems, processes, and practices are in place and tested periodically.

14 .          Able to build strong teams by identifying key people with complimentary skills to meet performance goals and be successful and to motivate others, provide innovative ideas and solutions, and promote the corporate vision for improvement within the department and throughout the organization.

15 .          Able to stimulate and encourage an environment for creative excellence, promote continuous innovation and to turn problems into opportunities for change.

16 .          Able to continually assess needs and implement measures that will insure customer expectations are met or exceeded.

17 .          Consults with business management and users on production operations, problems, and proposed resolutions. 

18 .          Participates in meetings and decisions concerning the full range of management functions of the Infrastructure environment. 

19 .          Able to develop and manage multiple complex projects with minimal direction and no supervision.

20 .          Develops long-range plans for IS Service Support based on the strategic direction of the company.

21 .          Provides leadership and direction for all Service Support projects and activities.

22 .          Other Duties and responsibilities as assigned by the SVP/VP of Infrastructure Services.
