Sorry, but I'm unemployed / forcibly retired by the crappy economy -- for which I blame the Gooferment, its politicians, and its bureaucrats.

But "unemployment insurance" is ... sham! It's purpose is to allow the Gooferment, politicians and bureaucrats to pretend that they give a rat's behind for ordinary people. It gives them a nice shiny program to run ---- staffed by well-paid well-pensioned well-connected bureaucrats -- who spend a lot of time and money "administrating".

"Unemployment" is not an insurable risk. It's not like tornado, flood, fire, or car accident. There's not a distinct pool of people who can share the adverse consequence.

So, it's a welfare program.

We already have welfare programs. Why do we need one more? So, we can pretend it's not?

The Gooferment (i.e., Federal, State, and Local) only gets wealth by taking it from others. Everyone is broke. So, why increase welfare when we don't have it in the first place.

Sorry, but I think that we have to be fair to posterity and stop spending. I like the idea of a 10% across the board cut in all Gooferment budgets. Every single last one of them items in the budget. No exceptions!

Stop collecting "unemployment insurance premiums"! Stop paying any "unemployment insurance claims". Tough bitter medicine. But, like a drunk, we have to hit rock bottom, to start the recovery.

Mad? Blame the politicians and bureaucrats. And the "liberal" big Gooferment Socialists who started this ponzi scheme.
