When I got up this morning, I saw an ad on Facebook. Mitt Romney congratulates Jim Demint on his reelection. Welcome to 2012. The Presidential run for 2012 has officially begun. We in the Tea Party movement have got to jump into action to make sure the Republican nominee for President in 2012 is a conservative. For starters, that means no Mitt Romney. The big three right now in the GOP race are Romney, Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin. Romney has more flip-flops than John Kerry. If elected, Romney has no conservative principles that he will base his decisions on. Romney's instincts will be to "manage" government, not to reduce. That means the massive expansion of socialism that Obama launched will remain in place and the tax bill will ultimately have to be paid by our children and grand children. Gingrich is not much better. I have never forgiven him for sitting on a couch with Nancy Pelosi, hyping the global warming scam. Ignoring that for a moment, Gingrich really brings nothing to the table. Gingrich would govern as a conservative, but that is not what we need right now. In the last one hundred years, the trend has been massive expansion when we have liberal presidents and only a modest expansion of government with so-called conservative Presidents. Only under Ronald Reagan, did we see a halt. We have never seen a reversal in the size of government. And then there is Sarah Palin. If the conservative movement has a rock star, right now, it is Sarah Palin. She will draw a crowd like no one else. But right now, she has not offered a vision for America that is compelling enough for me to sign on. The next President must have a compelling vision to roll back socialism and the size of government. We will need a President who has a plan. We do not need a President who simply wants to govern or manage. We will have one chance for this in 2013. If we do not repeal Obamacare, Obama finance and these other programs, we will never be able to. What kind of plan should our next President have? First, the plan should be to eliminate the income tax. This can be done initially by statute and ultimately by repealing the 16th Amendment, which allows an income tax. An income tax only fuels the easy, endless expansion of government. We have to cut the fuel off to the motor of government growth. Second, we need to start going through the budget line by line, to eliminate waste, fraud and abuse in the spending of our tax dollars. Third, we are going to have to reform the Federal Judiciary, so that it is no longer an unelected dictatorship. The judiciary was always meant to be the weakest arm of the government. Today it is the strongest, with unelected judges imposing their personal opinions on society without the check and balance of being forced to face the electorate. Fourth, we need a candidate who is going to seriously deal with immigration. America is not Burger King. You cannot simply waltz into this country and have it your own way. We need a candidate committed to closing the border and send illegal aliens back to their home countries. We need to change the anchor baby law. Just because you have a child here, that child no longer automatically becomes an American citizen. You need to be born to parents who are in this country legally. Fifth, we need a President committed to rebuilding the American economy by rebuilding the manufacturing base in America. Free trade has been nothing short of a disaster for America. Free Trade has decimated huge sections of the American economy. It has been great for other countries, but we need a President who makes decisions based on what is great for our country, not another country. Finally, we are going to have to do something about career politicians. Term limits is simply a concept whose time has come. The idea that someone would spend thirty years or more in Congress is simply obscene. As we go into 2012, we need to find a candidate for President who holds these beliefs. We need a candidate who will fundamentally change the way government operates today. We need a candidate who will shrink government and roll back socialism. If we do not find this person and put them in the White House in 2012, in the end, the Obama/Pelosi/Reid axis of socialism will have won the day. Tags: © 2010

The funny thing about this 2012 run is that all the major conservative news sources have completely hopped on board the Tea Party express. Everyone from Fox including that freak Sean Hannity who completely disrespected Ron Paul during the last election. The other Cheerleaders consider themselves Tea Party members as well like Rush, Savage, and of course Beck. All these people would have to show their true colors if they turned on him while he runs with the Tea arty endorsement, or else they would have no choice but to support him. Of course they can wiggle a little. But it will be blatant.
Also Ron Paul brings support from many other minority parties Plus some Liberals when it comes to shows like Coast to Coast that support him and also the 9 million + people who listen to Alex Jones... etc etc etc. Another Bonus is he knows all the Slams and talking points the opposition will hit him with since he has already been through the ringer last run. Preparation is golden.
I'd say Ron Paul could do it if the economy is still tanked by 2012, and especially if it is worse. I'd Vote for him. I would actually get 10X more involved if he ran than I would for any other candidate I can think of.
Someone will emerge.
When a corporation can hire workers across the globe for pennies on the dollar as opposed to paying union wages, it helps their bottom line and ultimately us the consumers because the savings can be passed on to us. However, it is also hurting us as these jobs are being taken away from American citizens.
Something needs to be done about the unions. I read an article recently regarding school bus drivers in Nashville. They are members of the Steel Workers Union (don't ask me how a school bus driver and a steel worker are related). Anyway, they are working about 4 hours a day and getting paid for 8 hour days (union wages). This is being paid for with tax dollars and is the kind of thing that needs to be stopped.
By no means am I saying that unions are the only cause, but they are certainly the most significant. There may have been a need for the Unions when they first came into being, but frankly, they have forgotten their purpose and outlived their usefulness.
The damage done by Unions goes far beyond just the artificial inflation of wages. I live in a town that is, for all intents and purposes, run by the Union Pacific Railroad. While I have never worked for them, I count many railroaders among my friends and associates. You would not believe the things they get away with.. All because of Union protections. It is a running joke among the railroaders that they go to work to catch up on their sleep. I don't get paid upwards of $20 an hour (that is what they start aroud, I have no idea what the long time employees make) to take a nap. Thats $20 plus an hour in an area where the average wage of everyone else is significantly lower and the cost of living is less than what you find on the coasts or in most metropilitan areas.
The waste and inefficiency caused by the Unions is crippling many American companies and causing jobs to be lost overseas. I could go to the UPRR and get a job anytime I wanted, but I refuse to be a part of it.
The rest of Judson's post is spot on. Although I am afraid we are a long way from a proposal to eliminate the income tax being taken seriously by a majority
