After three years of searching in the job market after being downsized in 2006, I have landed a position as Director, Training Development at the Wyndham Hotel Group in Parsippany, NJ.
I wish all of you the best in your job search. And remember, no matter how bleak things seem, NEVER lose Faith! NEVER, EVER, give up!!

Hey Jim,. no wonder I do not see you as an active participant at various
networking groups any more.
I wish you the very best of luck and a HUGE congratulations. Thanks for
sending out this note to the group. They need to hear success stories and
keep being encouraged.
I know that Wyndham went through significant belt tightening a while back.
I am very glad to see that the pendulum starts swinging in the other
direction. I want to believe that this is now going to be a welcome trend
that other local companies will want to imitate.

Last Night's CNG Meeting: Excel In Interviews

A brief report for those who weren't able to attend last night...
We had a good turnout for both the November 5th and 19th sessions,
"Excel In Interviews", where we did a number of very short interview
role plays. There was a lot of energy and enthusiasm in the room both
nights.
I asked at the end of last night's session whether we should do this
regularly, and there was almost unanimous agreement that this type of
session was very important, and we should do one quarterly...so Laura,
Alex and I will incorporate that into the 2010 calendar.
And although we don't usually plug products, since Ramesh was kind
enough to pass around several bags of the unique and delicious plantain
chips produced by the company he and his wife run, I felt compelled to

CGS is currently looking for Senior Project Managers with Manufacturing industry experience for opportunities in Northern New Jersey. These positions are for individuals who would consider a Right-to-Hire opportunity after a six-month assignment.
Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, management and delivery of multiple projects varying in size, scope, and complexity.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Close teamwork with individuals internal and external to IT will be necessary during the project life cycle.
Interfacing with various departments within the company in developing the initial project scope.
Liaison with finance may be required in the preparation of financial justification and approval of the projects.
Hands on proactive approach to managing projects is expected - with full responsibility for all aspects of a project including executing the project within scope, schedule and budget.
Manage project dependencies
Preparation of project documents, project plan, communication plan, issues log, reporting risks, and action items.
Proactively communicating project information and status and conducting project status meetings.
May have responsibility for directing and overseeing resources and contractors.
May have responsibility for performing business analysis and gathering requirements for select projects
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years of related Project Management Experience
Extensive knowledge in the use of Project Management methodologies and tools
Intermediate skills using work breakdown structures for project control and forecasting
Intermediate skills with project financial tracking systems utilizing public or proprietary software
Intermediate skills handling complex projects and executing those projects using project management phases
Advanced knowledge of MS Project for developing and maintaining project schedules
Business analysis skills using various IT systems
Familiar with standard IT concepts, practices, and procedures
Demonstrated ability to oversee projects involving multi-disciplines
Ability to execute projects within scope, schedule and budget
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong customer focus
Excellent organizational and follow up skills
Strong attention to detail
Efficient time management skills
Solid client interface skills
Strong decision making and problem solving skills
