 High Level Job Description:

Analyzes business and technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified business information processing systems, such as production and inventory control systems, financial tracking systems, marketing and human resources systems. Represents the business unit to define requirements and business cases for the technology developments. Coordinates with business and technology teams, ascertaining system requirements, such as program functions, output requirements, input data acquisition, and system techniques and controls. Requires knowledge of e-commerce tools, computer system capabilities, business processes, and work flow. Assignments are received in task oriented terms. Provides direction to subordinates using established policies and precedents. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall quality and efficiency. Administers and executes policies and procedures that typically affect individual subordinate employees. Accomplishes
tasks mainly through direct supervision of predominately highly skilled non-exempt and entry level exempt employees. Meets the minimum requirements of executive exemption under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Monitors daily operations of a unit and actively assists, or provides direction to, subordinates as required. May perform, especially in staff or professional businesses, ongoing operational tasks of organization units. Ensures that projects are completed on schedule following established procedures and schedules. Erroneous decisions or recommendations or failure to achieve results might cause delays in program schedules and result in the allocation of more resources. Majority of liaison is on internal basis with subordinates and supervisors at equivalent level or one level higher. Liaison normally involves specific phases of a project or operation. External contacts are infrequent and involve routine matters. 6 - 8 years of experience, with related
Bachelors degree.

OVERVIEW: The "Business Analyst – IT Planning & Portfolio Management" will work as part of the Corporate Systems Group within a Fortune500 company, participating in the strategic IT planning process for a portfolio of 130+ financial, tax, treasury, legal, audit, compliance, security, and facilities systems.

The successful candidate must quickly develop a broad understanding of various initiatives, its leadership, needs, gaps, and priorities in order to contribute to a life-cycle analysis of these systems and help create business cases and road maps.

The position involves constant interaction with the user group and the vendor base, and an appropriate understanding of the application release management and infrastructure landscape.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to implement remediation plans for compliance

• Understand the infrastructure as well as application environment

• Create templates for application specific data gathering from vendors and collect such data on a periodic basis to populate the Application Portfolio Management tool

• Maintain positive relations with all stakeholders

SKILLS:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical/engineeri ng field, IT-related field, or business administration

• Possess a good working knowledge of the principles of project & portfolio management, infrastructure maintenance, systems engineering, and strategic planning process

• Proven ability to gather data, dig into data inconsistency and research new data sourcesBr>
• Reasonable understanding of various financial systems used in a large corporate setup

• Accurate and detail oriented, comfortable with handling large data sets
