Function:
 
Will be the manager of the Medical Center IT Distributed Operations team. Daily
responsibilities will include running operations for MCIT distributed systems
and supervising the vendor operations. The incumbent will be responsible for
supporting MCIT distributed systems, working with engineering teams, vendor
operations, and other various teams including application teams.

 
 
Primary Responsibilities Include:
 
• Running operations to support Distributed Systems infrastructure with a focus
on servers, backup, and storage.

• Working with and supervising vendor operations to ensure that the distributed
infrastructure is safe and stable.

• Working with various engineering and application teams to productionize new
solutions and ensure that the solutions/changes are safe and reliable.

• Run 24 x 7 support to address any production issues in a timely manner.
• Implement best practice IT processes to optimize operations that include
performing all necessary checks & balances.
 
MUST HAVE STRONG EXPERIENCE
Server operations/engineering experience in large scale environment.  
In terms of number of servers, we have 700-800 servers, so we prefer to have
someone experienced in a similar or larger environment. A lot of experience with
backup, operations required.

 
 
Qualifications:
 
• Minimally +15-20 years of experience in IT in large-scale infrastructure
environment (500+ UNIX systems, 10,000+ users).
• Minimally 10+ years experience as an operations manager supporting enterprise
class server storage and backup environment.
• Demonstrated experience with and solid understanding on all aspects of IT
infrastructure.
• Experience in producing necessary reports, documentations, etc. in a timely
manner.

• Excellent relationship skills to successfully work with various teams.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Mature personality, strong sense of taking ownership, and ability to
effectively work with and mobilize other teams.

• Experience in ITIL and other industry best practices strongly preferred.

Need a well rounded Senior Development Manager in the Java J2E field. The
candidate will be part of the team which manages company's customer facing
web site. The candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Java
developers to develop and maintain company's premier customer facing web
site. The ideal candidate will be someone who has worked closely with
business users, has played a key role in building/supporting a customer
facing website and has demonstrable experience innovating with technology to
meet business needs.

The candidate will not only be responsible for a state of the art web site
but also be responsible for helping architect and develop the next
generation customer facing web site for the company. Candidate will have an
opportunity to be a key player in developing a web site using portal, social
collaboration, search engine, web services, in memory database and dedicated
middleware caching technologies.

Management Skills:

- 5 to 8 years of experience as a Development Manager leading a
team of Java Developers

- Should have significant experience working directly with Business
users in problem solving

- Experience and temperament to mentor Java developers technically
and professionally

- Ability to lead and execute a mix of small/medium/large sized
projects simultaneously

- Ability to work collaboratively across the IT organization
(infrastructure/test/back office groups)

- Strong Project Management skills

- Detail oriented

- Experience working in an Agile/iterative development SDLC
environment preferred.

Technology Skills:

- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience building Java J2E based
external facing web applications

- Strong knowledge and implementation experience in
Java/J2E/Spring/Hibernate/Struts/XML/Maven/Subversion/MyEclipse

- Strong Oracle Database Design/Development skills from an
application development standpoint (Stored Procedure skills not necessary).
Strong SQL skills a pre-requisite.

- Strong front end technology skills (JS/AJAX/XSL/CSS/HTML/etc)

- Strong MVC paradigm experience

- Experience with Portal technologies required, Oracle Aqualogic
Portal experience preferred.

- App servers: Oracle Weblogic 9.x, Tomcat

- OS: Solaris 10, Red Hat Linux

- Must have strong Web UI knowledge and best practice skills.
Candidate will be doing extensive UI feature brainstorming with the business
users.
