client is seeking candidates as noted below. All positions are based in the
Wall Street are and are initially 7 month contract durations. Candidates
must be local to the area and be available to start ASAP.

Senior COBOL Programmer (US Citizens only)
Client is seeking an experienced professional to work on development of
mainframe applications (COBOL based) and assist with reviewing and
documenting existing legacy code during analysis phases of projects.
Applications include real time processing of securities transfers (part of
Fedwire), as well as a range of backend applications supporting critical
business functions

Job Description:
. COBOL and general mainframe development for the Securities (NBES)
application.
. Assist team members during analysis phases of the project by looking up
application code sections (e.g. COBOL, JCL, IMS Database code) and assisting
analysts and other developers by describing functional processing of the
code.
. Assist with writing business design documentation based on existing legacy
applications.
. Assist team leads in setting up parallel tests of mainframe and
distributed application code, setting up comparison tools and assisting with
parallel test verification.
. Assist mainframe test team in executing tests.
. Update and maintain documentation of existing legacy system based on
findings in existing COBOL code.
. Keep other developers, business analysts, team leads and project managers
well informed of progress and results.

Required Skills:
. Very skilled with strong knowledge of IMS DB and DC, DB2, COBOL, JCL, TSO,
MQSeries, SQL, Xpediter
. Strong communication skills; both written and spoken
. 7+ years of experience in this environment
. Strong knowledge of Word, Excel and productivity tools
. Financial Services industry experience

Preferred Skills:
. Databases and SQL (Oracle preferred)
. Enterprise level and mission critical software applications
. Software development lifecycle
. Knowledge of distributed systems architecture and Java (J2EE) is a plus
. Agile development methodologies
. Document management systems and project management tools (e.g. Clarity)

Duration: 6 - 12+ mos (typically runs 18-24 mos)
Location: NYC
