The Job Description is
Objective Client is seeking to engage a Programme/Project Manager with expertise in network architectures who will manage the Network Modernization programme as well as the projects making up the programme. The Programme/Project manager must be a certified PMP or a Prince2 Practitioner and have the experience of successfully delivering products by applying one of these project management methodologies. Scope of Work In response to the Network Modernization programme, the Programme/Project Manager is expected to provide on-site New York headquarters the following deliverables: 1. Regularly appraise the Network Modernization Programme Review board on Programme progresses. 2. Produce a Programme plan using MS Project Server, which must include all projects in the Network. 3. Modernization programme; propose and validate project priorities with the Programme Review Board. 4. Guarantee that all projects have a project steering committee (which role is to ensure that the project delivers the intended business benefits within time and budget constraints). The PSC is composed of an Executive and representatives of the main stakeholders and main technology providers. 5. Organize regular meetings with PSCs of each project; produce meeting minutes and actions items uploaded on the Project Server; follows up on action items; maintains a log of project decisions also uploaded on the Project Server. 6. Communicate orally pertinent and factual information about the Programme to the members of the PSCs as well as to the Project Teams (the entire group of people working on an individual project, which may include members of the PSC). Ensure that a written version is also uploaded on the Project Server. 7. Ensure that all projects have: o a Charter (a scope, a timeline, a budget). o a Work Breakdown Structure. o their activities associated to human and material resources. o a GANTT chart representing activity scheduling an dependencies. 8. Utilize his/her Project Management expertise to: o Optimize resource utilization across the Programme. o Manage change with minimal impact to project scope, schedule or budget (e.g. reschedule activities not on the critical path or projects of lower priorities). o Provides alternatives to the Programme Review Board for changes significantly impacting the scope, budget or schedule of individual projects. Deliverables • A draft Programme must be available within 4 weeks of starting this engagement • Every month: - The Programme and individual projects plans must be up to date. - All projects must have an up-to-date PSC and Charter. - All PSC meetings must be documented and Action Items recorded and followed up. Required qualifications, knowledge and experience - Candidate should have between 5 to 10 years of Programme/Project management experience. - Proposed candidate should also have 5 to 10 years of experience of: o Certified PMP or Prince2 Practitioner. o Networking LAN, WAN, Internet, WAN Accelerators, Routing, Switching, Firewalls, Network Security, IP telephony, etc; can interact with Network engineers.
