About the Opportunity:



The primary responsibility of the Director, Contract Management is to
develop and maintain strategic relationships with pharmaceutical
manufacturers, vendors and wholesalers to insure the currency of the
name-brand contract portfolio.  The Director will be responsible for the
hiring, training and management of a staff of two contract managers and
two contract analysts, managing departmental metrics and improve
internal processes.  He/she will manage all contract document workflow,
load processing and the proactive management of data requirements.  The
Director will assist in the development of strategies and tactical plans
for program budget, long-range goals and financial objectives.  He/she
will serve as a subject matter expert and resource to customers,
vendors, and interest groups on topics involving associated fields of
expertise.  He/she will also be responsible for managing contracts
communications and relationships with assigned vendors.



Essential Job Functions:  



*         Managing the workflow and maintaining a trained and qualified
team.  Create and manage a data production  schedule  for the
department according to contractual obligations and ensure data is
delivered accurate and timely  

*         Plays a role in industry conference planning and vendor
meetings including, vendor identification, logistical support,
presentation strategy, materials development and coordination across
trade relations.

*         Ensure information necessary for loading a contract is
obtained from the appropriate Partners in a timely fashion, contracts
are loaded and maintained properly within Midas.  Manage document flow
thru the department from initial receipt of agreement, contract review,
legal review, execution and contract operations paperwork.

*         Provide leadership in quality improvement by determining the
root cause of problems both internal and external to the department, and
provide solutions for both immediate and long term improvements.

*         Proactively monitor contracts termination dates and initiate
renewals requests via assigned staff. Monitor key contract performance
metrics and strategic initiatives identifying positive and negative
trends proactively with VP of Contracts.

*         Directly manage assigned Partner relationships

*         Identify and triage all contract changes and identify changes
that impact each sales division, proactively communicate changes in the
urgent, time sensitive and informational time frames

*         Develop sales and member communication in conjunction with
marketing based on new agreements and amendments.

*         Track economic value departmental wins and losses providing
impact report to VP and SVP.  





Job Requirements:

.

*         BA/BS degree, medical sciences and/or Pharmacist Degree (Rph
or Pharm D) a plus

*         7+ years managerial experience, with experience in customer
service a priority

*         Contracting and or GPO experience a plus.  Some healthcare
related work experience a plus

*         Requires excellent planning, analytical and self management
skills,

*         Superb communications and interpersonal skills

*         Must be multi-task oriented, a fast thinker who can change
direction and prioritize easily.

*         Personality to step in and take control, well organized,
excellent follow through and follow-up.

*         Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and
client-server based applications and data bases
