Department: Core Infrastructure
Responsibilities:
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the corporate datacenters
* Provide expert datacenter design and engineering services
* Lead and provide guidance to a team of datacenter technicians
* Interface with other IT teams to understand project requests,
related requirements, schedule equipment deployments, evaluate and
validate user request details, and help coordinate workflow
* Rack and wire datacenter devices - routers, switches, servers,
storage, ...
* Provide break-fix support for servers and storage
* Maintain inventory of spare parts, fiber and copper wiring, ...
* Diligent management of datacenter power and environment, related
capacity planning, monitoring, and improvements
* Provide off hours datacenter support services as needed
* Provide expedient full range of services to collocated customers
* Enforce operational best practices and controls
* Support datacenter management software
* Create and maintain datacenter related documentation as needed
* Manage vendor relationships
* Attend to all other departmental needs as required
* Provide initiatives and recommendations that further the service
level and excellence of the department
Qualifications:
* 10+ years experience in datacenter management and operations
* Experience designing and supporting a financial or other
critical, high capacity, high availability, datacenter environment
* Solid understanding of datacenter power, cooling, and efficiency
principles
* Solid understanding of cabling, and related technologies
* Knowledge and experience of server architecture, especially HP,
and related hardware troubleshooting and repair
* Knowledge and experience of storage systems, backup systems,
networking
* Ability to physically rack and move equipment
* Experience with datacenter management software
* Project management skills
* Ability to multitask and perform in a fast paced, critical
production environment
* Excellent organizational and communication skills
* Interpersonal and team work skills
* Candidate must be client centric
* Systems administration skills a plus
* BS degree in a science or engineering field preferred
* Backoffice software skills: MS office, Visio, ...
