Senior Developer/Analyst
Position Summary: The Administrative Information Services (AIS) department of Princeton University's Office of Information Technology (OIT) seeks a Senior Developer to join its Custom Applications group. The Senior Developer is responsible for team-based support of distributed application development, delivery, implementation and support. In a rapidly changing environment, this position is specifically responsible for providing in-depth technical knowledge, expertise, and leadership to a java development project team and/or a java production support team. The Senior Developer is expected to play a significant role in both the technical and functional sides of OIT projects, paying particular attention to the upgrade and continued support of the applications used by The Office of Finance and Treasury. The Senior Developer works closely with OIT staff to research, evaluate, and recommend solutions to various wide-ranging information technology issues. The Senior Developer provides leadership as a contributing member in the technical standards-setting process, the evolution of the enterprise-wide architecture, and application integration, on behalf of various AIS project teams. The Senior Developer partners with functional areas to identify technical needs and vision, translates those needs into technical specifications, codes and develops to those specifications, and guides project-specific initiatives in partnership with our customers. Essential Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a minimum of 5-7 years experience as a developer/analyst. The successful candidate must have a proven track record in the installation, upgrade, enhancement, and support of large-scale administrative applications, most importantly financial applications. The successful candidate must have strong knowledge in the following technical areas: - Java EE, Java, EJB, JSP, Servlet, (X)HTML, CSS, Javascript, XML, knowledge of JSF preferred. - Java EE certified application servers such as WebLogic, GlassFish, JBoss.Oracle DBMS, Oracle PL/SQL. In addition, the successful candidate must posses: - Previous experience working as a developer on a full lifecycle project. Very strong interpersonal skills, communication (oral and written) and ability to work effectively in teams. - Strong analytical and problem solving skills. - The ability to work with business analysts in specification development. - The ability to multi-task between multiple projects. - The ability to communicate effectively with diverse user base having varied levels of technical proficiencies. - A strong understanding of financial applications, specifically those dealing with university loans and receivables.
