As a full time salaried employee reporting to the Associate Director, Enterprise Systems & Services, this individual has the lead responsibility to provide vision, leadership, and technical expertise in the area of Identity and Access Management. The position provides expertise in designing the system and leading the development effort to establish a university-wide identity management system. The system will be capable of managing and identifying each individual and entity based upon the wide variety of roles; system uses include authentication, authorization, and provisioning to appropriate applications, services, and assets. Manages large-scale, complex projects and operational activities and interfaces significantly with other technical and functional groups across the university community. The individual schedules and facilitates a university Identity Management Working Group, reviewing requirements, solutions, and identity policy and participates in identity management open source communities and communicates with other universities, raising awareness of the identity management solution and recruiting partnerships for ongoing development and maintenance of the solution. Responsible for managing a staff of developers in analysis, planning, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the identity management solution, including its integrations and interfaces with many important university systems.

Requires bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, information systems or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years experience in identity and access management. Must have a strong track record in project management and application development for identity management projects, as well as experience with using Microsoft Project to manage multiple initiatives tasks, milestones, and timelines. Experience with Tomcat, Apache, Spring Framework, UNIX (Solaris and Linux), Enterprise Middleware technologies Kerberos, LDAP, Shibboleth, Agile project development methodology, and open source communities, especially in a higher education environment, is preferred.
