PROGRAM

TOPIC:     Microsoft's Infrastructure Optimization Model
SPEAKER:   Juan Alvarado, Microsoft Corp.
Microsoft has developed a four-tiered Infrastructure Optimization Model to help
organizations diagnose the level at which their infrastructure is currently
functioning. The IOM then helps to prioritize the actions and investments
required to boost their performance. By standardizing, automating and more
tightly controlling IT infrastructure organizations may save hundreds of dollars
per desktop each year.

Mr. Alvarado will explain how the IOM functions. In particular, the work
required by the IT managers assessing their organizations' strengths, weaknesses
and opportunities, the process by which inefficiencies are attacked and
remedied, the four IOM levels of progress, and the specific identifiable
characteristics by which each level can be described.

Juan Alvarado is a Microsoft Technology Strategist who specializes in providing
Microsoft solutions for his customers' infrastructure, LOB and mission critical
systems. He has been with Microsoft for over 5 years. Previously, He worked as
an infrastructure manager for the NBA where he was responsible for its data
center operations and leading the adoption of virtualization and other leading
edge technologies. Juan enjoys playing the guitar and is a big sports fan. He
and his wife, Monica, live in Bogota, NJ and have two young daughters.
