New CDN startup looking for: Infrastructure Development Manager Infrastructure Development is responsible for leading the email and network operations team. Needs to be a technical thought leader. Additional responsibilities include the identification and execution of operational enhancements across our infrastructure support practice. A specific responsibility of this position will to be to identify potential process/operational efficiencies and develop plans to improve, prioritize, report and implement them. This position requires a highly technical hands-on individual with in-depth IT infrastructure experience. Qualifications · Bachelor's Degree from an accredited 4-year college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field. · 5+ years of technical experience · 5+ years in a management or leadership role · 3+ years leading Intel/Unix administration teams · 3+ years Project Management experience. · Experience managing a data center is considered a plus · Experience in a 24x7x365 operational environment is a plus Knowledge, skills and abilities · Must be able to motivate others to achieve results · Advanced experience with Windows 2003, Unix/Linux, DNS, Apache · Advanced network troubleshooting skills · Must be able to specify appropriate hardware/network solutions to accomplish goals · Experience with virtualization technology (VMware, Xen, etc) is desired. · Experience with monitoring using tools similar to Hp OpenView or System Center Operations Manager · Must be able to analyze a process/task and streamline or automate if appropriate · Experience in a data center environment and colo management is a plus · Experience supporting an MySQL environment is a plus · Excellent customer service skills. · Excellent verbal and technical writing communications skills. · Demonstrated Project Management skills. · Ability to train/manage/lead/understand LEAN or CI activities and initiatives. Responsibilities Lead Infrastructure planning and development opportunities Participation in new product testing and evaluations Lead network system architecture and administration activities Lead server architecture and administration activities Lead email administration activities Lead data storage administration activities Lead change request management and resolution activities Lead patch testing and deployment activities Participation in planning future data center needs and analysis Assess the infrastructure support organization strengths, weaknesses, risks and opportunities and develop recommendations and plan of action to improve Analyze and interpret IT process flow and documentation and identify areas for improvement utilizing knowledge of performance data, metrics, and process interdependencies Demonstrated ability to present metrics results to senior management Current understanding of best practices, management techniques and industry trends on the measurement of the organization Root cause analysis and problem resolution Interface with outside vendors and business partners In depth knowledge of infrastructure support best practices Directly supervises 5-10 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance to the Company policies, the Code of Ethical Business Conduct and applicable laws. Coach, encourage, guide, and recognize above average performance (or coach staff with less than acceptable performance) of associates to maintain a consistent, quality staff.
