Job Description: * Educate business owners on the current industry standard practices for documentation of business requirements for complex systems. * Bring efficiency to business requirements documentation by providing structured process and by demonstrating strong facilitation skills. * Assist business owners in defining and documenting requirements to current industry standards. o Leverage existing documentation of business processes. o Facilitate sessions with seasoned professionals knowledgeable about current business operations and existing business/ technology processes. o Extract specific and detailed business requirements from discussions through probing questions. o Translate meeting discussions to formal requirements documents (shared responsibility with business staff). * Ensure clear and detailed documentation of both functional and non-functional requirements. * Drive the business requirements documentation process to meet high quality standards and agreed upon deadlines. o Regularly communicate progress to senior management. o Clearly articulate project risks and offer risk mitigation strategies Required Skills: * Knowledge of current industry best practices for documentation of functional and non-functional business requirements of major technology projects developed by top IT consulting firms. * Demonstrated expertise in documenting business requirements for highly complex systems. * Experience with large systems with complex data models and significant proportion of batch processes. * At least ten years banking or financial services experience, preferably with background in securities custody applications. * In-depth working knowledge of mainframe and distributed applications; experience with systems operating on both platforms simultaneously. * Demonstrated problem solving abilities. * Proven ability to implement structured methodologies. * Exceptional facilitation and project management skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Strong analytical skills to understand and document complex business processes. * Personality that is agile to change with the ability to challenge the status quo. * Must consent to background investigations. Such investigations may include, but may not be limited to, researching a company*s history/ownership, fingerprinting and drug testing of any personnel who will have access to the Bank*s premises. * Must be willing to sign non-disclosure agreement Critical Skills : To develop an appropriate modernization strategy, the business owners need to clearly define and document the business requirements for the service in a manner that can be presented to technology partners to evaluate and propose concrete migration plans. It is critical that the requirements are comprehensive and documented consistent with industry standards. These requirements must include all existing functionality of the service, non-functional requirements (e.g. throughput, timeliness of reports, etc...) and indicate desired operational enhancements or new business processes. Requirements must be completed in Prefered Skills:? Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint ? Working knowledge of Visio is preferred ? GUI design skills are a plus ? Working knowledge of PeopleSoft a plus Education : Bachelor*s degree in business or IT related field with 7- 10 years of work experience in business analysis or application development, with at least 3 years of experience in business analysis, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
