Hello Everyone,
Many public areas offer browser setups that FORCE password savings. Although this may sound silly, many of these systems are hackable and smart (obviously not nice) people can take advantage.
If you choose to log on to your account on one of these computers (colleges are typically the worst), you MUST LOG OFF. At UCC I logged onto my account and was immediately forced to move to a different computer due too an unannounced class beginning. I closed the browser to yahoo and went into a different lab across the campus. When I tried to log onto my account, it did not ask for a password. My email account simply came on the screen giving the entire campus access to my email for that 7 minutes. I honestly had a panic attack when I realized and saw this.
And if this can happen to me I realized that this can happen to anyone else. Also, Yahoo is much safer than most other systems. But lets face a simply reality here. Security is not a top concern from these email companies. If you loose the account, they will tell you it's free. Just make another one. You can't force them to give you control of it again - even if you pay a subscription for it. Logging in and out is costly to them, and that they do care about. So if they can save millions and loose 20 email accounts a month, that would be considered a fair trade off. Those people will simply have to get used to anther email account. This has happened to me before.
The basic rule is if your email account is important - NEVER use it on a public computer.
Create a dummy account email address. Send what you want to do to that account. Than open it on a public computer. If you need to forward your emails for a time frame to your dummy account. But use your dummy account on public computers, never your important one.
